United to Beat Portsmouth Again?

Portsmouth v Manchester United: Community Shield Replay Ends With Another United Triumph?

Rachel Wright, 21st August 2008

You can’t help feeling a little bit sorry for the current FA Cup champions. I mean how unlucky it is to face Chelsea and then Manchester United in your opening two games of the season! But while Chelsea stuck an impressive four past them, few expect them to concede anywhere near as many.

Manchester City v West Ham: Hammers Hang on to a Point at Eastlands?

Christian Goodbrand, 21st August 2008

West Ham won on the opening weekend at home to Wigan but never looked convincing despite scoring twice in the opening 10 minutes. This match emphasized the importance of their star man Dean Ashton to whatever aspirations the club have for the season. City on the other hand crashed to another heavy defeat at Villa Park but their lack of firepower could be their undoing in this match.
Mark Hughes will be without Benjani, £18m man Jo, Darius Vassell and Valeri Bojinov this weekend so literally have just two young inexperienced strikers to lead the line in Welsh starlet Ched Evans and hot prospect Daniel Sturridge. This pairing will not strike fear into Matthew Upson and co so a draw looks a very good option for Premier 10 and Footy 15. After all, it’s not as if West Ham are in great shapes themselves with numerous injuries.

Fulham v Arsenal: No Joy for Roy as Emmanuel Guns Down Cottagers?

Christian Goodbrand, 21st August 2008

The Cottagers new look side got off to a poor start as they were the first scalps of newly promoted Hull, now they face an Arsenal side they hardly have the best of records against. Not the ideal beginning for Roy Hodgson’s first full season in charge then.
