Will Superstar Spanish Striker Sign for Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool or Tottenham?

Will David Villa be Kissing Goodbye to La Liga?Striker David Villa is set to leave his club Valencia this summer with Read Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all linked with the diminutive star. This week Cesc Fabregas has urged the Gunners to sign his Spanish compatriot who may be the perfect foil for the Togolese man-mountain Emmanuel Adebayor. His arrival would be a massive statement of Arsenal’s intent for next season and the fact Villa has stated his desire to play for the Gunners surely gives them a major chance. However, whether Arsene Wenger would shell out the required transfer fee remains debatable especially if Chelsea enter the hunt and push the price tag up further.

If Liverpool could sign Villa their forward line would have a formidable look to it. Alongside his Spanish team-mate Fernando Torres the Reds would have a partnership built on pace, skill and power that could terrorise the Premier League. Villa is arguably the higher rated player of the two in his homeland so imagine what he could do in the famous red shirt. Surely that combination would be a mouth-watering prospect to the Liverpool faithful.

Chelsea are in the market for at least one centre-forward with Didier Drogba widely expected to depart and possibly joined by misfit Nicolas Anelka. If Avram Grant wants a top class centre-forward as well as to transform the playing style of the club then surely Villa fits the bill perfectly. Money is hardly an object to the club and if they are serious about the player then he could be well playing at the Bridge next season.

A similar situation can be found at White Hart Lane with Dimitar Berbatov expected to move on to pastures new. Tottenham need to replace him with a major name to appease the fans and they do possess the Juande Ramos factor but a lack of Champions League football could well be their major downfall.

So where do you think David Villa will end up and do you think he would be a major Premier League success for your club? Let’s hear your views.

  1. DL Says:

    Heart is screaming Tottenham.
    Head is saying Arsenal.

As for Liverpool.. if he goes there, thats just terrifying.

  2. Terry Mc Says:

Villa would never go to Spurs, he is top class! He will come to Arsenal and we will show everyone what we are about!

  3. Mart Says:

What losers!? Arsenal are a sinkin ship! Why play there!?

  4. Dan Says:

    Terry,

What like this year? Ha ha ha. What are Ar5ena1 about then? Not really good enough to compete at the highest level, but too good to compete in domestic cups? I forecast an empty trophy cabinet for you next season too, old son!

  5. Terry Mc Says:

And why would he go to Liverpool or Chelsea they play the most dull football and hardly excite their own fans…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  6. Goonerbeall Says:

Stop doing all this to me guys. It does nothing to my blood pressure. One day we have this player on the verge of a contract and the next day it was’nt sure- What the f….?
I know we are skint and buy in bargain basement but dont go on about it. Did anyone see the Russians in Zenith whatever? Their defenders were marvelous: Tall, athletic and strong as bulls. Did Wenger watch the game by chance? Bring both center backs and send Toure in the defending midfield where he could do better than Flamini. Gallas has proved to be not as strong as we thought.

  7. Alex Says:

Never end up at Tottenham, he is a Champions League player, Arsenal would be a good club for him but Wenger will never spend the money on him….

Liverpool could be an option considering he said he would love to play next to Fernando but whether Benitez will have the funds this summer is debatable…as for Chelsea well they can afford him, they may need him too, be a real waste if he went to the Bridge though!

  8. gooners n01 Says:

great season spurs had wasnt it?
you won a major compertion didnt you.
you won the tin pan cup,you spent more than us and you were about 37 POINTS OFF US.
every year we hear arsenal is a sinking ship but wait how can we be when year after year we are in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE THATS RIGHT THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE,stick to the uefa cup and being top of the second half of the table you mugs.

  9. macca Says:

I think he will go to real or barca as he wants to stay in Spain more than come to England.

  10. Rehan Ashraf Says:

To all you Spuds out there who insist that Arsenal are sinking - you may have beaten us 5-1 in a competition that we use to give experience to our kids, but that is all.

Do your talking on the pitch - I know we do.

  11. Greekos Says:

You lot are so petty. Yeah Arsenal are in the Champions league big deal whats the point if you dont win in anyway. Tottenham have at least won a trophy but we need to do it more regularly. Villa would definately help the Tottenham cause and Id love to see him with Spurs. But get real! He doesnt want to move away from Spain. Hell be at Madrid next year. You lot make me laugh thinkin that every player on the earth wants to play in the EPL. Madrid are just as prominant as Man U or Arsenal or Liverpool or Chelsea on the world stage.

  12. Dan Says:

Gooners sabre rattling makes me laugh. If you are happy with 3rd place, that is a pretty sad statement of intent for next season!! You need to buy some players for now rather than the future if you want to challenge next season…

  13. Dan Mac Says:

Greekos - all our clubs went as far as possible in the champs league… the only teams to knock out English oposition this year were other English teams! The EPL is the be all and end all… you wanna prove yourself these days, you have to do it in England. Spain is a glamour league, all pretty football without actually getting anywhere… bit like Arsenal, except, even they had to be knocked out by an English team. You wanna prove yourself, you have to do it here… just the way ot is these days!

  14. zoran Says:

getting villa would b great,no ?’s ask but i think our best bet would b to go after Roman Riquelme of boca who i think is the best midfielder and also the most under rated player he can score more goals than most strikers in the game.

  15. rob Says:

he will be staying in spain and going to madrid!

  16. raulraj Says:

If he goes anywhere, it would be Liverpool. the rest is media crap. There are quite a number of spanish players who are still better than most English players.. Look at the England team like that of Germany a few years ago just harpingly holding on to just a few names. Used and outdone products. Argentina is also moving forward. So are the players… They too are having the knowledge that they can play in the EPL. Its not like before. Liverpool can be considered a spanish team with English influence. In Spain, the English influence comes mainly from LiverpoolFC.

  17. zoran darby Says:

if arsenal get villa that would b great, but i think jaun Riquemle of boca would b a better fit for us.i think he is the best midfeilder in the game and also the most under rated.he also score more goal than most strikes.with him and ces we will b unstoppable.

  18. Dave Says:

To everyone who thinks he is ‘too big’ for Spurs and will be going to Arsenal, Wenger in an interview quite recently (well done for knowing about your club, lads) stated ‘we don’t need Villa, we have Bentner’…

Wenger proves once more his sense of humour remains intact.

  19. Lol@Spurs Says:

‘Gooners sabre rattling makes me laugh. If you are happy with 3rd place, that is a pretty sad statement of intent for next season!! You need to buy some players for now rather than the future if you want to challenge next season…’

Spurs on the other hand would need an entirely new team. Bust yourself down to the Ryman League and start again. Its your only hope. Your club is a mess. Other than Dimitar, and even he has kicked his last ball for the lillywhites, you dont have one single player of any real quality. I dont think any Arsenal fan is happy with 3rd place, but hey, its an improvement over last year. Champs League football is nice every season as well. Maybe one day your club will get to experience that too. Oh well, seems we now have Jenas as the latest mug who is convinced you’ll finish ahead of us for the first time since 1812…despite being 37 points (over 12 victories!!) behind us. Stop embarassing yourselves Spurs fans. Any player you want, we can have. Oooh Manu Petit, we’ll never forget you and that taxi ride!!

  20. gooners n01 Says:

we played sparta in the champions league and beat them 7-0 and gave them a footballing lesson, you play them at home and just about beat them.
face it you lot our rubbish and will always be in our shadow.
5-1 so what you have 9 years of arsenal beating you.
and the way you lot still go on about it just show’s who’s the much bigger club, when we beat you in the caling cup semi with our kids, you heard a couple of days about it,you beat us and your still be going on bout in 10 years.
face it you hate the fact that arsenal couldnt care less about you lot, when we play you its just another derby, but for you its the biggest game of the season.

  21. thenry Says:

SOMEONE HAD A SENSE OF HUMOUR AT SPUDS THEY PAID 16 MILLION FOR DARREN BENT ROTFLMAO!!!!!!

Villa has alreday stated that if he came to play in the PL Arsenal would be the team that he woruld prfer to play for.

as for the rest of the crap when spuds ever get to being a club that thinks its BIG but fails to deliver a title since 1962 yes 1962 when black & white tvs were around.

your a silly little club that has delusions of grandeure about your size and ability. every year we haer the same shit and every yaer the same result nothing. but congrats this for winnign the tin pot cup. yes its a trophy but its a cup where the big 4 dont play their 1st teams, only THE REST of teh PL teams try and win these little cups and they still cant manage it other then the od year.
face it all you LITTLE clubs outside the TOP 4 you are just there to make up the numbers and when the euro league is launched you will look back fondly at the times we used to play each other because it wont happen again. we will be in the euro league and all the other little teams can scrap for the title of a devoid league.

it must hurt thespuds fans that in the 10 years wince Wenger has been there we have won 3 titles cups and been to the CL final at the same time built a brand new stadium and still spent less money then spuds ROTFLMAO!

SPUDS A LOSER CLUB WITH LOSER FANS!!!

  22. elninoT9 Says:

if villa came to the premier league he wud go to liverpool. he wud want to play wif torres an the other spaniards in england who cud help him settle faster.

after the season torres has had i wudn be surprised if he came to offer some competition

  23. alex Says:

you lot aretottengham fans david villa would never go to such a crap team you finished 12 that says alot and the guy who said atleast you won a cup its a little carling cup who cares about that why do you think buig four teams play there reserves because its a waste of time a cup if wenger puts in an offer he will defintly go to arsenal because he wants to play there so dont be silly we almost won but will next season. Also liverpool have to accept there’s not a big four any more there’s a big three Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal liverpool’s results have been awful the last 8 years dropping to fith twice dont beleive me look it up on google your self . Arsenal all the way.

  24. topgunner101 Says:

this is great from arsenal fans!i dont need to say anything realy.but go guys! wel see this lot off on the pitch in the new season whoever we sign or dont sign.thing about spurs, they’re so funny its almost sad.talk about eternal optimists.one consolation cup and theyre ruling the world.i laughed til i realised they really beleive this.villa.said arsenal first choice.maybe liverpool as a second.he never mentioned em.hes probably never heard of them.theyre nothin more to arsenal any more than an annoying insect.rivalrys all in their heads now.we moved on.and UP.
