Who Do Manchester City Fans Want to Replace Sven at Eastlands?

Mark Hughes: Is he the Front Runner to be Sven’s Replacement? The Sven Goran Eriksson Saga is finally over at Manchester City after the club finally announced that the Swede has departed with the Mexican national job his likely destination. Now that the debacle is finally over, club owner Thaksin Shinawatra has to find a replacement to appease the fans who had generally taken Eriksson to their hearts after a good first season.

The list of candidates is relatively long with Big Phil Scolari, Avram Grant and now Mark Hughes heavily linked to the position. Now we want to hear Man City fan’s views on both Eriksson’s departure and who you feel should be brought in to take the club forward and why?  Let’s hear your views.

I would like to see Michael Laudrup come in as he is one of the brightest young managers in the game and would transform our dull playing style. Sven was so defensive it was ridiculous, now let’s move on!

  2. kippaxChris Says:

Good luck Sven you were a sound manager and been badly treated…we need a proven man in charge but who would fancy it with Sinatra playing silly buggers! we are a laughing stock!

  3. Carl Says:

GOOD RIDDANCE TO ERIKSSON! Well done Thaksin, he realised he was not the right man for the job we need a forward thinker not a dull defensive coach!

  4. New Day Says:

I think Mark Hughes is more appropriate, because he know what the English league need more than others and that the side’s is very good coach like when he was a player.

  5. Citizen Skin Says:

Lets face up to reality here, Sven was a good step forward from the dire days of Pearce/Keegan etc but you have to admit, if you’ve seen all the games this season, we played some pretty poor football for the most part. In fact, apart from the “honeymoon” period of the first few months leading up to November there were times when i thought i was watching a Scottish Second Division team in action!

Bring on Sparky and lets get crackin’…

lol you lot are nuts are you all still members of the save sven brigade, you all loved him during the season, he got you your highest points total in the prem ever and signed loads of great players for decent sums of cash in about a week, he did fantastically well for his first season in charge and im not even a city fan, he even did the double of united in a year they one the league and champs league!

madness, i thought sven did well last season. Remember the early form showed and the football being played Aug/September. If it wasn’t for a series of injuries to key players then Elano wouldn’t have played right back and Richards would have been able to keep things steady. If Thaiboy had given him until Xmas you would have seen a massive turnaroud as he would have strengthened the squad during the summer and the team would be back to playing good football within a couple of games……oh well
