Will Newcastle Legend Alan Shearer Cut his Managerial Teeth at Blackburn?

Could Alan Shearer bring Success Back to Ewood?Mounting speculation concerning the vacant managerial post at Blackburn suggests Newcastle legend Alan Shearer is the front runner for the job. The former Rovers striker is one of a number of candidates for the position alongside the likes of MK Dons manager Paul Ince, Sam Allardyce and Steve McClaren.

Whether Blackburn will take the risk of employing a novice manager to replace Mark Hughes is questionable with so many more experienced candidates. However, Shearer is regarded highly within the corridors of power at Ewood Park and could emerge as the surprise choice and give the 37-year-old a chance to cut his managerial teeth. The former England international had a superb 4 year spell with the club from 1992-96 culminating in 1995 Premier League title success so is expected to be welcomed by the fans as well as appease the boards search for a high profile name to take over the managerial reigns. After all, he did score an incredible 130 goals in a mere 171 games for the club.

So would you like to see Alan Shearer installed in the managerial hotseat or do you feel  are far better and more experienced candidates for the role? Let’s hear your views.

big players dont necessarily make top mannagers, i would prefer Paul Ince the fella is obviously a winner and unlike Shearer won’t jump at chance to leave us as soon as Newcastle come calling!

  3. Geordie boy Says:

keep alan warm for us whilst he learns his trade with a small club before joining the big boys once Keegan goes in a few seasons!
