Which Premier League Club will Challenge the Top Four this Season? Arsenal, Aston Villa, Blackburn, Bolton, Chelsea, Everton, Fulham, Hull, Liverpool, Man City, Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Portsmouth, Stoke, Sunderland, Tottenham, West Brom, West Ham & Wigan Fans Have Your Say!
There are an increasing number of Premier League clubs joining the chasing pack behind the usual top four clubs of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. More and more clubs are spending heavily in a bid to break the current big four monopoly with Spurs leading the way in terms of splashing the cash. However, their ambitions may well be affected by the loss of their impressive forward line to the very teams they are trying to emulate.
Then there’s the likes of Everton and Aston Villa who performed wonders last season but have far smaller squads than those above them so may need to bring in a number of arrivals the compete with the big boys over a full season. Steve Sidwell may prove a worthy replacement for want-away Captain Gareth Barry but other signings will be needed to mount a serious challenge whilst Everton need to replace Lee Carsley and add strength to their midfield.
Man City may be surprise contenders now they’ve got Mark Hughes on board as well as a new forward in the shape of £18m man Jo as they look to solve their inadequacies in front of goal. Whilst Portsmouth have added Peter Crouch to their FA Cup winning side and continue to illustrate their growing ambition. Can West Ham launch a challenge with their numerous signings from last season returning to full fitness or will Paul Ince enhance his excellent reputation with Blackburn? Will the North-East clubs finally mount a challenge to the status Premier League status quo?
