Cascarino: Chelsea will miss Essien but Diaby will fill Song’s boots at Arsenal

The departure of players to the African Cup of Nations affects league leaders Chelsea far more than most as they will be without Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Salomon Kalou and John Obi-Mikel. However, if there is one club who have the squad strength in depth to cope with the departures then it is Chelsea.

Alan Hansen’s Champions League Preview

Chelsea visit Atletico Madrid in the Champions League tonight looking to continue a run of results that has seen that smash in 17 goals in their last four games. This superb period of form started after their shock 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa with, appropriately enough, a 4-0 hammering of Madrid at Stamford Bridge. They then moved on to a 5-0 victory over Blackburn and the brace of 4-0s against Bolton in the Carling Cup and Premier League.

Former Chelsea Star Claims Scolari Made a Mistake Not Using Drogba From Start Against Manchester United

Reports suggest Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola is set to sign one of three potential Premier League strikers this summer with the names of Tottenham’s Dimitar Berbatov, Arsenal’s Emmanuel Adebayor and Chelsea’s Didier Drogba on the list.Over the past few seasons each player has proven themselves to be some of the finest forwards in the Premier League.
