It’s Fierce Up North!
Hang on a minute, has everyone read the Rivalries Report - the latest report into the psyche of football fans?
Quick sum up, it’s an indepth study into which are the biggest rivalries in English Football (a really interesting read) focusing, in detail, on the top 20 and also listing up to the top 30. I won’t give away the ending and tell you who topped the table (think you’ll be surprised) but the report states that the rivalry between Liverpool and Man U is regarded as ‘greater than the rivalries they have with Everton and Manchester City respectively.’ This particularly rivalry run-in is no.3 while Liverpool v Everton is 19th and Man City v Man U is 25th.
What do you reckon, is this a true reflection? Have a read why and then let me know if you agree. Particularly interested in hearing from the blue contingencies of both cities considering the main reason your rivalry is ranked lower is than the Liverpool and Man U one because you have offered much in the way of competition.

Fair comment i suppose, Man U v Liverpool is a damn fierce rivalry - one that Liverpool is losing drastically! While derby day is always a big event, granted our inconsistent league finishes have meant we haven’t been much competition in that respect but we’re certainly making up for that now! Fourth place here we come, then a couple more seasons pushing them down the table and they’ll definitely consider us worthier rivals!
Reckon Moyes and the Blue boys will make the tables turn so much that it’ll be us who’ll actually have a bigger rivalry with Man U than Liverpool! Hahahahaha!
