Premier 10 Minute by Minute Review: March 29 & 30

There was no change at the top of the table as the top 4 all picked up wins this weekend though some made harder work of if than others. Derby became the first side to be relegated this season after failure to beat 2nd from bottom Fulham at Pride Park. There were a few shock results, none more so than Newcastle’s emphatic thrashing of Tottenham at White Hart Lane. Here’s your guide to when the goals went in!

The Two Ronnies to Appear in the Premier League?

Once again Ronaldinho is being touted as a possible Premier League signing this summer. The former World Player of the Year has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for the past few years and if he were to become available they would surely be strong favourites to land his services given their bottomless pit of wealth and Champions League status.

Manchester United v Aston Villa: Red Devils Victorious Yet Again Over the Villans?

Up until a few weeks ago this match looked like a potential banana skin for the Red Devils as the Villans had picked up impressive draws this season at Stamford Bridge, the Emirates and Anfield. However, a recent run of poor results coupled with an appalling record against United marks this match down as a Premier 10 home win.

Reading v Blackburn: Reading Head Clear of the Relegation Pack?

Portsmouth v Wigan: Pompey Pick up the Points?

An under strength Pompey side lost 2-0 at Tottenham last weekend after losing 6 players to injury and suspension. However, this week Premier 10 players should note that Harry Redknapp should welcome back both Jermain Defoe and Sol Campbell to the starting line-up which should boost their hopes of a victory over relegation threatened Wigan.

Derby v Fulham: A Trip to Pride Park Cures Cottagers Travel Sickness?

If last weekend’s top 4 sides going head to head constituted a Grand Slam Sunday then this weekend’s meeting between the current bottom two could be easily touted as Quicksand Saturday as both look destined to sink into the Championship come the end of the season. Despite the doom and gloom surrounding both Pride Park and Craven Cottage, both sides will believe this is a match they can win.
