Derby v Aston Villa: Rams Raided by Villa Pace Men?

Here’s a Chance for Derby Defenders to see the Front of Agbonlahor as they should Expect to be Chasing Him this Weekend! The relegated Rams have been a godsend to Premier 10 players this season as they’ve been beaten almost every week and this looks set to be yet another defeat. The Villans returned to form in emphatic style last weekend with a 4-0 thrashing of Bolton after a barren 5-match winless run (3 defeats). I hate to say it Rams fans but once again, Derby face another disappointing weekend defeat.

Derby on a Downer

The Rams miserable season-long Premier League stay will soon be at an end as they look set to break the record for the worst points tally in a season held by Sunderland. It’s been almost 7 months since they won their only match of the season (against Newcastle) and with games against West Ham, Arsenal, Blackburn and Reading to follow this one, there looks little chance of further points. They’ve been bottom since late October and with 13 points separating them from 19th placed Fulham, that’s where they will stay for the remainder of the season. Paul Jewell has singled out loan signing Hossam Ghaly for his performances in the last few matches but he faces disappointment in trying to sign the Egyptian permanently with his former club Feyenoord reportedly interested. The Rams have been picked up 3 draws in their last 5 home League games but I wouldn’t expect anything other than an away win, especially as Villa rediscovered their best form at the weekend.

Villans Return to Form with a Bang!

Martin O’Neill’s side ended a 3-match losing run with an emphatic 4-0 home thrashing of Bolton at the weekend. It also heralded the end of England hopeful Gabriel Agbonlahor’s 12-match goal drought. He’s only scored twice now in his last 20 League games. Whereas Marlon Harewood has scored 3 goals in his last 11 appearances and 10 of those were as a substitute. The Villans have had a superb season on their travels, already winning 5 matches and drawing 7. However, they’ve lost their last 2 away games without scoring a goal at Portsmouth and Manchester United though Pride Park is hardly a venue to fear.

Derby’s aged defence should find the pace of Agbonlahor, Young and Carew far too hot to handle so back the away side to build on the trashing of Bolton with another convincing Premier 10 win.
