Fulham Lead Chase for Swedish International Defender: Blackburn, Sunderland, Manchester City & Wigan All Interested
There are a queue of Premier League clubs reportedly chasing the services of Swedish international right-back Fredrik Stoor this summer. Fulham are believed to be leading the chase due to manager Roy Hodgson’s links to Nordic football. However, Blackburn, Manchester City, Sunderland and Wigan are also said to be involved.
Stoor played in all 3 of his nations Euro 2008 matches and has now made 8 appearances at international level (all this year). The 24-year-old currently plies his trade for Norwegian side Rosenborg where he’s played for 2 seasons. He has made 29 League appearances for the club after joining in December 2006 from Swedish side Hammarby where he made 51 League appearances and scored twice. He had joined the club aged 12 before making his first team appearance in 2003.
The big Swede has Champions League experience and impressed is last season’s home and away wins over Spanish outfit Valencia. He is a tall, solid defender in the Olof Mellberg mould and looks set to leave the Norwegian club this summer. He can play either as a right-sided full-back or as a centre-half.
So were you impressed with the big defender at Euro 2008? Does he sound the sort of player you need at your club? Let’s hear your views.

If you’re looking for a strong full back, there is another swedish one i Halmstad BK. His name is Peter Larsson, 24 years, and he nearly made it to the Sweden team for the EURO 2008. He has been outstanding in Allsvenskan this season and is a bargain at the moment.
