Which Stadium has the Best Atmosphere in the Premier League? Arsenal, Aston Villa, Blackburn, Bolton, Chelsea, Everton, Fulham, Hull, Liverpool, Man City, Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Portsmouth, Stoke, Sunderland, Tottenham, West Brom, West Ham & Wigan Fans Have Your Say!
The old adage of whether size really matters doesn’t quite equate to the atmosphere at the 20 Premier League grounds. After all, both current manager Sir Alex Ferguson and former Captain Roy Keane both criticised the vocal support their team has received at Old Trafford in the past. This is the support from the biggest club stadium in the country after all. Keane even went as far as to label the spectators the ‘prawn sandwich brigade’. However, have the noise levels increased since those remarks. This is after all the stadium that away fans most want to visit.
Newcastle fans are often deemed the best in the country but would fans from other clubs agree that the noise and atmosphere generated by 50,000 fervent Geordies makes their ground the most atmospheric?
Anfield is famed for it’s European nights when the Kop is seen as a 12th man for the Reds but is it the same type of electric atmosphere for a normal Premier League match? Their neighbours Everton may have one of the oldest grounds in the League but is that fact condusive to an old style ground atmosphere?
Then there’s the state of the art Emirates stadium, comfy cushioned seats and all. It was built with atmosphere and comfort in mind but has their support carried over the ‘Highbury Library’ tag from their old stadium?
How about the bell ringing and constant Pompey Chimes being rung out at Fratton Park, one of the smaller Premier League grounds?
How about the newly promoted sides, is the Hawthorns as good an atmosphere as you will get anywhere with the boing-boing Baggies singing at the top of their voices?
With all this is mind we want to hear which ground you think is the best for atmosphere? Vote and give your reasons why.
