There were a number of new foreign signings brought to the Premier League this summer and many got their first tastes of top flight English football last weekend. After making their much awaited debuts we want to know which of the new boys impressed you most this weekend?
Our pundit Alan Hansen felt that the display of Jonas Gutierrez at Manchester United on Sunday was the stand-out performance of the weekend for his powerful display at the Theatre of dreams. Would you agree or did you feel his compatriot’s performance at the heart of the Newcastle defence was better?
How about Arsenal’s match winning debut star Samir Nasri? The Young Frenchman scored his new side’s only goal in their 1-0 win over newly promoted West Brom and fitted straight into the Gunners style of play.
What about the many new signings at Tottenham who may have lost at Boro but well could have caught your eye on the day?
Would you opt for Johan Elmander who scored on his debut for Bolton against Stoke or West Ham’s flying full-back Valon Behrami?
The displays of both Deco and Jose Bosingwa for Chelsea were some of the most impressive of the weekend. The Portuguese international midfielder not only performed well but scored arguably the best goal of the opening weekend in the process.
