Who Is the Best English Striker in the Premier League? Arsenal, Aston Villa, Blackburn, Bolton, Chelsea, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Man City, Manchester United, Wigan, Newcastle, Portsmouth, West Ham, Sunderland, Spurs, West Brom, Stoke, Hull & Middlesbrough Fans Have Your Say!

Emile Heskey: The Premier League’s Best English Striker??England entertain the Czech Republic tonight with much of the publicity around the match being focussed on John Terry retaining the Captain’s armband. However, after looking at the squad I want to focus on the quartet of forwards included for the match and English striking talent in general.

Fabio Capello picked Theo Walcott, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey and Wayne Rooney in his squad. Now apart from Defoe in the latter half of last season none of these players are particularly prolific. However, if you scour through the Premier League clubs for English forwards you’ll find there isn’t too much competition to pick from. Despite this, I was surprised at the omission of Aston Villa hat-trick hero Gabriel Agbonlahor. Here we have a player who is continually progressing and for me looks as good if not better a prospect for England than Walcott has so far in his fledgling career.

Footy 15 RolloverThen there’s Emile Heskey, we all know what the Wigan man brings to the table but does he really merit an inclusion ahead of Peter Crouch whose record for England puts most of his rivals to shame.

Wayne Rooney is widely considered the best English forward in the Premier League but is he mainly living off his early career hype and the fact he plays for the biggest club in the land? When was the last time he proved himself at international level to be better than all the rest?

Footy 15 freeWhen you think about the best strikers in the Premier League you tend to think of the likes of Fernando Torres, Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez, Yakubu and Dimitar Berbatov but we want to know who you consider to be the best of the best in terms of English top division forwards.

Is it Michael Owen who has suffered numerous injuries but when fit still has an excellent strike rate? Or Dean Ashton who also has had his fair share of bad luck but continues to reap the plaudits?

With all this in mind we want to know which of these English forwards you consider the best in the Premier League? Vote and let us know your reasons why.
