Middlesbrough v West Brom: Boro Boys Back to Winning Ways?
Gareth Southgate’s young Boro side started the season brightly but have since slumped to 3 straight defeats in League and Cup on the road. This weekend they return to the Riverside where they boast a 100% record this season (two league & one cup match). The Baggies have failed to score in both their away League games this season so Middlesbrough will be strong favourites.
The Riverside is starting to become a bit of a fortress for Boro as they’ve won their last 4 League games there stretching back to last season. In fact, they’ve never won five successive home League games in the Premier League so Southgate and his players have a chance of writing themselves into the history books.
West Brom will have been buoyed by their first League win of the season against West Ham but since were brought back down to earth by neighbours Aston Villa. They are a talented side which plays good football but may not possess enough attacking options to win at the Riverside with Roman Bednar expected to play up front on his own supported by a 5-man midfield. It’s Boro who possess the more potent strikers so I would back them on Premier 10 and Footy 15 to bag a win.
Pundit’s Pick: Boro Beat the Baggies (HOME WIN)
