Chelsea Lead Chase for the French Wonderkid Dubbed the ‘New Zidane’: Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal & Blackburn in the Hunt
Reports suggest Chelsea are leading the chase for arguably the brightest young talent in French football, the 18-year-old midfielder Sofiane Feghouli. However, if the Blues want to sign the French wonderkid dubbed the ‘New Zidane’ they will have to beat off competition from a number of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The likes of Ajax, Barcelona, AC Milan, Valencia, Arsenal, Tottenham and Blackburn have all been linked to the youngster of Algerian descent. Feghouli plies his trade for newly promoted Grenoble 38 in the French top division. He has become a permanent fixture in the side playing in all 7 League games this season as his club have climbed to 4th in Lique 1. However, it was in the promotion winning campaign last season that Feghouli made his mark in the first team.
The French U19 international made 26 League appearances last season (15 starts) and scored 2 goals as Grenoble were promoted to the top division in 3rd place. Overall the highly-talented star has made 36 League appearances (23 starts) for Grenoble 38 in his short career but that has been enough to attract some of the biggest clubs in Europe to his talents.
So would you like your club to sign this talented youngster? Have you seen him play before? Which of the clubs interested in him would be best for his development? Let’s hear your views.
