Chelsea Lead Chase for 14-Year-Old Barca Wonderkid Dubbed the ‘New Ronaldinho’: Arsenal & Liverpool Also in Race
Chelsea are reported to be leading he chase for one of the most exciting youngsters in world football, Barcelona’s 14-year-old wonderkid Gerard Deulofeu.
Arsenal are also in the hunt for the exciting left-winger who has yet to sign trainee forms and thus could follow the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Fran Merida in moving to the Emirates from the Catalan giants. Rafa Benitez’s Liverpool has also been alerted by his Spanish contacts and is showing a firm interest. The youngster is the latest in a long line of highly-rated starlets who’ve interested the Premier League’s finest but Barcelona will be desperate to keep their rising star.
Despite playing on the left-flank, Deulofeu is right-footed and thus is versatile enough to be used on either wing. The Spanish youth international has the look of a young Jordi Cruyff about him with his mop of blonde hair but is considerably better. He’s renowned for his dribbling ability and ease in beating opponents. Deulofeu’s eye-catching performances for Barcelona’s youth team has had scouts flocking and his ability suggests he will be a future star.
Arsenal’s Spanish scout Francis Cagigao has brought the wonderkid to Arsene Wenger’s attention though he faces stiff opposition from Frank Arnesen at Chelsea who has also targeted the talented teenager.
So do you like the look of the youngster? Would his development be best suited at Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool if he was to leave the Camp Nou? Let’s hear your views.

Looks to have loads of potential but definitely needs a decent coach. His decision making is poor and seems to want to score the ‘impressive’ goal rather than just score. Probably ideal for Arsenal in that respect.
