Tottenham to Leave the Lane: What are Your Best Memories of the World Famous Home of the Spurs?
Tottenham have confirmed they are to build a new 60,000 capacity stadium on land adjacent to White Hart Lane, the clubs home for the past 109 years. This marks the dawning of a new era both on and off the pitch as Tottenham attempt to close the gap on their North London neighbours.
The new stadium would give Spurs the added income to compete with the biggest clubs in the land and also enable the club to remain in its spiritual home. Historically Tottenham have been renowned for their attacking free-flowing style from the push and run team of the 1960’s under Bill Nicholson to Keith Burkinshaw’s 1984 Uefa Cup winning team.
The fans have been lucky enough to have seen legendary players such as Dave Mackay, Jimmy Greaves, Ossie Ardilles, Glenn Hoddle, Chris Waddle, Paul Gascoigne, Gary Lineker, Jurgen Klinsmann and David Ginola grace the famous old ground but we want to know what have been your best memories of the world famous home of the Spurs?
Whether it the Carling Cup semi-final thrashing of Arsenal last season or the penalty shoot-out win over Anderlecht we want to hear your views.

I was lucky enough to have a season ticket in the Chris Waddle, Paul Gascoigne era and both were a pleasure to watch. Gazza was one of the most entertaining players to watch even in the warm up..so i would always get down early to see him and Nayim doing their stuff.
Will miss the Lane.

The excitement surrounding the signings of Ossie and Ricardo was awesome, the Lane was buzzing. The Shelf in the 70’s and 80’s was a fantastic place to be.

The 1987 season under David Pleat was fantastic to watch, but the best memory was when Graham Roberts scored the equaliser againt Anderlecht in the 1984 UEFA Cup Final. What a night that was.

In the mid nineties, my brother and i were junior spurs, we used to meet a group of friends outsite the paxton road end and pay a fiver to get in. Players like Sheringham, Barmby and Anderton in their pomp.
Oh happy days!

I still remember as a kid thinking Dean Austin and Justin Edinburgh could be England’s fullbacks when they first started playing for us and looked good. I was obviously disturbed.
I remember beating WIlmbledon in the Cup with Razor Ruddock knocking Fashanu all over the place and then blowing pretend cigars to the fans as fash was subbed off looking battered…perfect!

Jurgen Klinsmann’s debut season with the attacking line up was a great buzz. But for me it was the home match with Man City following the 1990 world cup when the whole stadium saluted gazza and Lineker following their performances.

They are not leaving for about 4 years. Once again your writer just writes tedious stories about spurs. Are all football pools customers spurs fans - if so fair enough, If not then hes a disgrace.
Write about other teams for once and prove this is a site that cares about football and not just tottenham.
