Alan Hansen’s Thoughts on £20M Robbie Keane’s Start at Liverpool

Alan HansenI was pleased to see Robbie Keane grab his first Premier League goals for Liverpool at the weekend which will do his confidence a world of good. He hasn’t been prolific since joining the club but for me, he has been playing well for the team. Robbie Gets Off the Mark in the PL at AnfieldHis work-rate is tremendous but as he’ll know himself, all top strikers are judged on the amount of goals they score.

A £20million striker needs to be scoring goals because if Liverpool do fail to win the Premier League this season and he’s only scored 4-5 League goals then questions will be asked. However, hopefully for him this will be the start of many.

The Anfield faithful are no mugs and appreciate just how well he’s done for the team already, if he starts to score goals to go along with his general performance then he will soon start to pay back his high price tag.

How do you feel Robbie Keane has performed since joining the club? Did you expect more from a £20m striker or is he finally finding his feet at Anfield? Let’s hear your views.
