Tony Cascarino on Harry Redknapp’s ‘Scary’ Transformation of Tottenham
It has been scary to see just how much one man can change a club’s situation around so dramatically but that’s just what Harry Redknapp has done at Tottenham in a few short weeks. Harry seems to have an instant effect wherever he goes but if you’d told me a few weeks ago that Spurs would have drawn at Arsenal, beat Liverpool and then won at Man City then I would have laughed. 
The team was in a desperate state and it can’t just be that Harry goes around putting his arm around the players it must be more than that. After all, we may as well throw all these coaching badges and manuals away if that’s the case!
It would seem that treating men like humans is the recipe for Harry’s success and it has paid off although there have been a few changes to the team. They may be sticking to the 4-5-1 formation that was used by Juande Ramos but Luka Modric is being used in an area he can hurt the opposition. When I watched him earlier in the season he spent too much time picking the ball up from the back four which was not his natural position. He needed to be far higher up the pitch and be given the freedom to play his game. He has the ability to play the eye of a needle pass and you can see that under Harry he is enjoying himself as is the rest of the side.
Darren Bent is another one who has blossomed under Redknapp, the lad has returned to his pre-season form when the goals were flowing and his confidence is sky-high. Since joining Tottenham he has been a bit of a bit-part player regarded by many of the Spurs fans as overpriced.
To be fair to the lad he is not the most technically gifted player in the world but he is effective. He has scored goals wherever he has been and perhaps now Harry is structuring the team to play to his strengths. It has been hard for Darren to win over the Tottenham faithful as they were used to their strikers providing a bit of magic as both Berbatov and Keane could. However, it’s amazing what goals can do for a strikers confidence and to convince the fans he is a player. On thing is for certain Harry has got everyone at the Lane smiling again!

I cant believe it we have been out played but kept going right to the whistle and it has paid off.Bentley had a hand in a lot of results,playing Ledley in the right games helped,Modric playing in the hole great and he will be on the score sheet.Gomez looked dodgy but he wants to command the area and is full of bottle,the punching gets to me a bit but he will settle.Long way to go to be safe but we are all SMILES now. THIS IS WHAT THE TEAM SHOULD BE DOING I CANNOT BELIVE TELEVISION PUNTERS AND experts saying harry has worked a miracle yes he has but with a team that should be winning .This i belive whas down to two things baby food the stupid diet that players were told to stick to even tom hudds couldent have tomato sauce on his chicken darren bent whas told off for ordering ham sandwich in a hotel. Kaboul pictured in the sun eating a burger he never played again these incidents the language barrier the arms folded on the touch line all conspired to make an unappy ship the statments became as unsteady has the teams performances like gus saying bent and pavlychenco couldent play together and lastly there where rumours of illegal energy being used by teams desparate to stay in the prem and other teams desperate to win the league all this and the other reasons is why mr ramos whas .sacked And i feel sorry for him and gus and aleves and even commoli. This is come on the back of england players being tested for drugs anywhere anytime atleast 5 times this will only stop english players and will not stop the rest the new and inproved testers will in 2009 .coys
