Poll: Keane Leaves Sunderland, Who do You Want to Replace Him?
So after all the recent speculation concerning Roy Keane’s future at Sunderland it has emerged that he’s left the club. After a poor run of form that has seen the Black Cats slip into the relegation zone the Irishman has left in the wake of a 4-1 home thrashing at the hands of Bolton. The search will now begin to find a manager to take the reins at the Stadium of Light with former Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce strong favourite for the job.
Alan Curbishley and Hull manager Phil Brown make up the 3 favourites for the role which is surprising as all are English. David O’Leary is also in the running which may appease the strong Irish contingent at the club.
We want to know what you Sunderland fans think about the news of Keane’s departure. Had he taken the club as far as he could after a huge spending spree that has hardly paid off. Do you feel his decision to sign big name temperamental players such as Pascal Chimbonda and El-Hadji Diouf prompted his downfall?
Who would you like to see installed as the new man in charge? Would you accept Big Sam despite previously managing your North-East rivals? Let’s hear your views.

Good riddance he has wasted so much of our money it’s not funny..get Big Sam in to spend more wisely on loan signings and free transfers rather than £5m on Chopra etc etc

I would like Big Sam, he is hated at Newcastle too which is a big plus, he is proven in the PL, has an eye for a player and doesn’t waste money.
