Bendtner: ‘I should start every game’ at Arsenal: Do Gunners Fans Rate the Dane as Highly as he Does?
Arsenal’s Danish international striker could never be accused of lacking confidence but his recent comments in the Daily Mirror could be seen as deluded for a player with a relatively poor record in the first team. The Dane had this to say, “I’m very sorry to see Adebayor injured as we need him fit and to be playing in the league.”
“But it does not really matter to me who is fit and available.
“I should start every game, I should be playing every minute of every match and always be in the team.”
When questioned on the arrival of big money signing Andrei Arshavin and his threat to Bendtner’s place in the side, he said, “I’ve never seen Arshavin. I did not watch Euro 2008,”
“I’ve no idea what sort of player he is.”
Bendtner’s record for Arsenal is 8 goals in 45 League appearances (16 starts) so his personal view that he should play every match is somewhat unfounded when you look at the competition for a starting place up front. His overall record reads 16 goals in 72 appearances (33 starts) so he has had plenty of chances to prove himself at the Emirates. The 21-year-old’s record for his national side makes far more impressive reading after scoring 8 goals in 23 internationals.
Do comments like this warm the Dane to Gunners fan’s hearts or do they smack of a poor selfish attitude to his role in the side as a youngster who has made the breakthrough into the first team squad? Let’s hear your views.

It’s good that he is confident and Adebayor has done nothing this season. Give the lad a run of games

He’s not that bad actually. 14 Apps and 8 goals for a 21yo who plays mostly subs. He denied he made this comments after the Cardiff game.
