Tony Cascarino: Inter’s Ibrahimovic is More ‘Egg Beater Than World Beater’ - Manchester United to go Through
Manchester United face a tricky game with Inter Milan this week especially as we all know about the ‘Mourinho’ factor. However, the Italians have lost a number of defensive players on the run up to this match so should have a patched up backline. For this reason I would love to see Sir Alex tell his side to go at Inter from the first minute. Don’t be cagey just go out there and beat them.
If Inter are missing 4 defenders why not put those picked to the test. After all, no side in Europe is looking as strong as United are at the moment. On paper United should get through this one relatively comfortably especially if the most Inter have to offer is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede is constantly being lauded as one of the best around but I don’t see it. Whenever he plays against English clubs he does next to nothing, more an egg-beater than a world-beater!
The only worry is if Sir Alex plays around with the formation but the way the team is playing then there’s little chance of that. He did make a pig’s ear of United’s last tie against a side from Milan when his team were crushed by AC in the San Siro after a tactical reshuffle. However, Fergie will have learnt from that and I can’t see anything other than a home win as this Inter team is over-hyped and United are the real deal.
