Once again I expect Manchester United to lead the way in the Premier League next season as they’ve shown throughout the season that they have the squad and the mentality to dominate. However, if Chelsea and Liverpool sign the right players this summer on top of the squads they already possess, they will run United pretty close.

Chelsea and Everton fans may be excited about the upcoming FA Cup final but I’m not expecting the match to be one for the purists. These are two of the best sides at grinding out results in the Premier League so this should be a tight game with defences on top just as in the two meetings earlier this season which both finished goalless.

Congratulations to Burnley and Owen Coyle for their play-off final win but I’m afraid the hard work starts now! Owen has done a great job in getting the club promoted on a shoestring budget but to keep Burnley in the Premier League will take some doing.

I was not surprised at the lack of a performance from Newcastle at Villa Park at the weekend as for me, they are one of the most feeble teams I’ve seen for a number of years. The Magpies current side have got nothing to offer and it would have been a miracle if they’d managed to stay up.

Watching Phil Brown singing into a microphone on the pitch at the KC Stadium was shocking for me. Ok if Hull had just beaten Manchester United 3-0 to secure survival then you can just about understand it. However, to get beaten and only stay up because of the failures of other sides yet to celebrate as if you’ve won something is just wrong.

Tonight’s Champions League final should be a great occasion with two great attacking sides on show. However, don’t expect Manchester United to go out and attack Barcelona gung ho as they will be more than aware of the talent of the Catalans in terms of attacking open spaces.

Tottenham are being strongly linked with newly crowned Scottish PFA Player of the Year Scott Brown this summer. The 23-year-old Celtic star has enjoyed a good 2nd season at Celtic Park culminating in the PFA award. He is also a regular in the Scottish national team and is renowned for his tough tackling and engine.

The Manager of the Year trophy is a certainty to go to Sir Alex Ferguson. It’s hard to argue with that decision when you consider what Manchester United have won and could still win. The award usually goes to managers that wins trophies and the Premier League title, Carling Cup, World Club Championship, an FA Cup semi-final and a Champions League final is some record. There is no way that you could give the trophy to anyone else but there are a few other managers who have done simply superb jobs this season.

There has been so much debate concerning what team Manchester United will field against Hull on Sunday but in all due respect to all the relegation battlers Sir Alex will do what is right for his club. United’s priorities now lie with the Champions League final as they already have the Premier League title in the bag. To be fair, if any other club were in the same position they would look to rest their top stars too. After all, Barcelona certainly will.

I fully expect Harry Redknapp to build on his ever-improving Tottenham squad with two or three signings this summer who’ll make a big impact at the club. A new centre forward will be brought in with Darren Bent definitely on his way and Roman Pavlyuchenko having struggled. Roque Santa Cruz would be a superb signing to play alongside either Robbie Keane or Jermain Defore but don’t be surprised if Harry goes back to Portsmouth for Peter Crouch.
