Blues Fan Wins £30,000 as Chelsea Beat Arsenal & Hull Shock Man City

The Chelsea v Arsenal match was an intriguing contest between two of the best teams in the country who play with both differing styles and attitudes. While Arsene Wenger’s side enjoyed the lion’s share of possession without causing too many problems to the Chelsea defence, the Blues were more than happy to surrender ground, soak up any pressure and hit the Gunners on the break. The top of the table clash was of massive importance to Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United fans but for one Birmingham City fan, this match had a £30,000 Premier 10 jackpot win riding on it.

The Blues fan from Banbury had successfully predicted the outcome of the other nine Premier League matches including Hull’s shock 2-1 win over Manchester City. The fact that he picked a home win in that match was surprising enough considering that the Tigers had not previously won a league game since November when they beat Everton at the KC Stadium. Phil Brown’s team had gone 10 league games without a win, a run that included four Hull defeats.

The Tigers had not won any of their previous four home league games but had also only lost once in that time to the reigning champions Manchester United. In fact, that defeat was Hull’s only loss in their previous nine at the KC Stadium. Roberto Mancini’s Manchester City side had won four of their previous five league games so to back them to lose was going against previous form. The lucky Birmingham fan went against the majority of Premier 10 players predictions with this one and it paid off handsomely.

He also backed his own team Birmingham to beat Wolves in their local derby but was unaware that the Blues had scored twice in the last ten minutes to come back and win. Kevin Phillips 5-minute brace turned that match on its head as the veteran helped Birmingham to a superb win. Therefore, the Premier 10 jackpot winner watched the Chelsea v Arsenal game oblivious to the fact he was one game away from winning £30,000!
