Tottenham’s hold on fourth spot is far more precarious after a disappointing defeat at Manchester United last weekend but with three games to go, a home match with Bolton is surely a must-win match. With two away trips to follow at Manchester City and Burnley, Harry Redknapp will be hoping his team can get the three points to set up their midweek trip to Eastlands perfectly. With City and Aston Villa set to face each other, a big win for Spurs could put them in an even stronger position. However, the pressure is now off Owen Coyle’s team and they’ve shown in recent away games that they can be tricky opposition.

Alan Hansen’s Premier 10 Preview: Man City v Aston Villa

Manchester City take on Aston Villa in a massive game at Eastlands which is crucial to the race for fourth place. Martin O’Neill’s Villans have played their way back into the race with three successive wins and will now fancy their chances of upsetting City who have now lost two of their last four at home after previously being unbeaten at Eastlands. Villa have won their last three and with Tottenham and Man City set to play each other in midweek in their games in hand, they need to win again.

Alan Hansen’s Premier 10 Preview: Sunderland v Man United

With Chelsea facing a tough trip to Anfield, Manchester United travel to the Stadium of Light for a must-win match with Sunderland. This is viewed by many as the weekend which will decide the destination of the title as both United and Chelsea should comfortably win the final weekend’s home fixtures. On paper Carlo Ancelotti’s team arguably have the toughest test this weekend, however, the Black Cats are in a rich vein of form at home and have already beaten the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham there.

League leaders Chelsea face a tough trip to Anfield this weekend in what is arguably a title decider. If Carlo Ancelotti’s team can pick up a win then the title is all but theirs but Liverpool won’t make it easy for them whether fourth place is up for grabs or not.

Nicolas Otamendi: Rafa to Rebuild Reds With £9M ‘New Roberto Ayala’

One of last season’s Argentinian Clausura Championship stars was Velez Sarsfield’s young centre-half Nicolas Hernan Otamendi. The 22-year-old’s impact in the Clausura title race was such that the likes Real Madrid were named as interested suitors and the player himself has now cemented himself into Diego Maradona’s international set-up and is expected to go to the World Cup finals. He has been just as impressive this season and that form has alerted Rafa Benitez who is looking to strengthen his defence this summer with some younger players and the player dubbed the ‘new Roberto Ayala’ certainly fits the bill.

Yoann Gourcuff: Man City Lead Chase for the ‘New Zidane’

Reports in the French and English press suggest Manchester City will launch an £18m summer move for the mercurial talents of Bordeaux’s attacking midfielder Yoann Gourcuff. Roberto Mancini is ready to abandon plans to sign Gourcuff’s compatriot Franck Ribery as he looks to improve the City squad. The French star was in scintillating form last season in Lique One as Bordeaux clinched the title but this season has been a major disappointment as the club sit 14 points behind leaders Marseille and were knocked out of the Champions League in the quarter-finals by Lyon.

Alexander Hleb: Premier League Trio Fight for £5M Bargain

Former Arsenal star Alexander Hleb will be on the move again this summer after declaring his unhappiness at Stuttgart. The Belarusian had moved to his former club on a season long loan deal from Barcelona. However, he is far from happy with the way former Tottenham manager Christian Gross is using him and the amount of times he has been substituted. Hleb’s latest comments and those of his agent will alert a number of English clubs to his availability. It would be no real surprise if he was to return to these shores as Hleb was highly regarded for the his performances with the Gunners and the likes of Birmingham, Aston Villa and Sunderland are all credited with an interest.

Radamel Falcao: Spurs & Villa Chase Deadly £18M Colombian Hitman

The Portuguese press have strongly linked two English clubs Aston Villa and Tottenham with a summer swoop for highly rated Colombian striking sensation Radamel Falcao. Liverpool tried to sign him last summer but Porto won the race and he has been a revelation in Portugal this season. Now both Aston Villa and Tottenham have been named as potential suitors in the Portuguese press although the player’s price tag will have increased dramatically after a superb prolific start to his Porto career.
