Tony Cascarino’s World Cup Tips for £50,000 Triple Rollover Win!

Tony CascarinoThe 2010 World Cup is now heating up with the goals finally arriving in their droves. The first phase of matches are almost at an end with plenty still left to play for in every group. The various nations know what they need to do to qualify for the knockout round while those about to leave the competition will be playing for pride, so there may be a few shock results with some teams playing without pressure. With that in mind it is well worth covering a few of your predictions on Premier 10 especially with a £50,000 triple rollover on offer.

You can place your predictions on the ten World Cup games for a mere £1. However, with the unpredictable nature of some of the games so far in South Africa it could prove a wise move to increase your stake to cover a number of permutations in order to be in the best position to win the £50,000 Premier 10 jackpot.

It is simple to play, you don’t need to predict the scores just whether the matches end in home win, away win or draw. For £1 you can just pick one selection for each match but with so much money to be won I will be giving my views on which matches it may be worth doubling up on with a few extra quid.

Here’s my guide to the ten World Cup matches and where I think the smart money should be placed.

Mexico v Uruguay

Diego ForlanThe Mexicans and Uruguayans have been particularly impressive in Group A. with both nations assured of qualification if the match ends in a draw, I’d expect neither team to be pressing for a win. Diego Forlan has been in superb form and if anything it is the Uruguayans that have looked the more accomplished of the two teams but the South Americans know how to keep it tight while Mexico should be more than happy to qualify in 2nd spot. For me, a draw looks a cert.

Tony’s Tip: DRAW

Nigeria v South Korea

South KoreaNigeria are out of the competition after two straight defeats but will consider themselves unfortunate after losing to Greece following a stupid sending-off which changed the game. The South Koreans found Argentina too hot to handle in their last match but should still qualify as Greece need to get a positive result against the impressive South Americans. This is one of the matches I would cover as the pressure is off the Nigerians but the South Koreans know a win should be enough for them to qualify. However, a draw may not be such a bad result with the Greeks unlikely to beat Diego Maradona’s team.

Tony’s Tip: DRAW & AWAY WIN

Greece v Argentina

ArgentinaArgentina have already picked up maximum points and will be full of confidence. Diego Maradona may make a few changes to his team but the depth of quality within the squad is great with reserve strikers Diego Milito and Sergio Aguero top players in their own rights. The Greeks World Cup campaign was brought back to life in their last match as they came from behind to beat Nigeria but they won’t find Argentina so accommodating. Therefore, despite the Greeks going all out for a win, I expect the South Americans to take full advantage on the break.

Tony’s Tip: AWAY WIN

Slovenia v England

EnglandI never thought that England would need to win their final group game to be certain of qualifying but that is now the case. On paper Fabio Capello’s team should beat Slovenia but the underdogs have performed well so far. I don’t expect Slovenia to play an open match so England may need to be patient which is not their strong point. Form and confidence is not good, so I would be tempted to cover this match also. If you are feeling confident of English success, back the away win only but with £50,000 on offer, I would be more cautious as it is hard to suddenly turn on form just like that.

Tony’s Tip: DRAW & AWAY WIN

USA v Algeria

USAThe Americans have impressed me with their attitude and work-rate so far in the competition and unlike England, I expect them to put the Algerians under a lot of pressure. Both teams need to win and will fancy their chances of beating the other, so this should be an open game. I just feel the USA have more goals in them so would back them to win and progress.

Tony’s Tip: HOME WIN

Ghana v Germany

GermanyGermany surprisingly lost their last match following Miroslav Klose’s red card but they still created enough chances with 10 men to score. The Germans really need to win with Serbia expected to beat the Aussies while Ghana will be more than happy with a draw. The problem for the Ghanaians is that I don’t think they are strong enough to keep Mesut Ozil and co at bay for 90 minutes. Ghana may be kicking themselves that they didn’t go all out to beat Australia in their last match with their one-man advantage. This won’t be easy by any means but the Germans superior goal threat should be enough. However, this may be another game to cover if you are not yet convinced by Joachim Low’s team.

Tony’s Tip: AWAY WIN

Australia v Serbia

SerbiaAustralia may have picked up a draw against Ghana but they have yet to impress me and their defence looks extremely one-paced. The Serbs need to win so should set out to attack the Aussies from the off. Australia have little goal threat in the side while defensively they are there to be got at. Serbia have talented players throughout the side and are also physically strong so should pose a threat from set-pieces. I can only see one winner.

Tony’s Tip: AWAY WIN

Cameroon v Netherlands

HollandThe Dutch haven’t got out of 2nd gear yet but should very comfortably beat a Cameroon side that has been hugely disappointing. Holland have numerous attacking players that can change a game while defensively they’ve looked very solid as they did in qualifcation for the World Cup finals. Cameroon have offered little to suggest they can provide an upset in this one.

Tony’s Tip: AWAY WIN

Portugal v Brazil

BrazilNow Brazil are my tip to win the whole tournament and they have looked quietly impressive so far in winning their two games. Dunga’s team are not going to play like the Brazilian sides of old but with a solid defence and midfield plus creativity up front, they will take some stopping. Portugal are as good as in the knockout stage following their impressive 7-0 demolition of North Korea. However, with little to play for, both teams may settle for a draw. Therefore, this is another game that may be worth covering as although Brazil are the team I’d expect to win, the attitude of both teams may be to see out the game with a share of the points and qualification.

Tony’s Tip: DRAW & AWAY WIN

Chile v Spain

David VillaThis is arguably the toughest of the matches to predict as I have been really impressed with Chile so far in this tournament. The Swiss will fancy their chances of beating Honduras so Spain really need the 3 points. However, although a draw would be enough for Chile to qualify, the South Americans are naturally very attacking in their outlook. Therefore, this promises to be a cracker. The Spanish have quality all over the park so I expect goals in this one but the Chileans are also more than capable of scoring as they get five or six players into the opposition box on a regular basis. Spain are the favourites but this is one match where I’d also cover the draw and perhaps also the home win as the South Americans are a very dangerous exciting team.

Tony’s Tip: HOME WIN, DRAW & AWAY WIN

If you follow my tips, the total stake would be £24 but with £50,000 on offer, that is a decent bet. Remember to get your Premier 10 predictions on before 3pm today to play. Have a play around with the coupon by ticking the boxes and see what is the best perm and stake for you. Obviously the more you cover, the better chance you have of winning but for a £50,000 Triple Rollover, I feel my £24 stake is well worth a pop.

Good luck

Tony
