Poll: Keane Leaves Sunderland, Who do You Want to Replace Him?

So after all the recent speculation concerning Roy Keane’s future at Sunderland it has emerged that he’s left the club. After a poor run of form that has seen the Black Cats slip into the relegation zone the Irishman has left in the wake of a 4-1 home thrashing at the hands of Bolton. The search will now begin to find a manager to take the reins at the Stadium of Light with former Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce strong favourite for the job.

David Villa: Valencia Financial Crisis Alerts Man City, Chelsea & Tottenham to January Swoop

Reports have once again broken concerning an apparent financial crisis at Spanish club Valencia which has led to increased speculation that their star man and most marketable asset David Villa will be sold in January. This news will alert big spenders Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham who are all on the look out for new strikers in the New Year.

17-Goal Bundesliga Top Scorer Targeted by Bayern: Good Signing for Spurs, Aston Villa, Everton, Man City, Wigan, Sunderland or Blackburn?

Bayern Munich look set to make a move for the Bundesliga’s top scorer Vedad Ibisevic in January according to Club President Franz Beckenbauer. The German legend nicknamed the ‘Kaiser’ told Premiere, “We are interested in all players that can help us improve and Ibisevic is one of those”.

Vagner Love: Everton & Man City to Make January Move for 20-Goal Brazilian

Both Everton and Manchester City are reportedly set to renew their interest in CSKA Moscow striker Vagner Love in January as they aim to boost their goal power. Everton have lost Yakubu for the season and with Louis Saha’s injury record will need to bring in some new recruits. Whether the Toffees can afford the Brazilian is questionable. However, money laden Manchester City definitely can!

If you were asked to name who the current top scorer in Europe was you’d expect one of the biggest names in club football to be at the top of your list. Strikers like Samuel Eto’o of Barcelona, Luca Toni of Bayern or Nicolas Anelka of Chelsea. Instead the top scorer is a little known Austrian by the name of Marc Janko who has scored a staggering 29 League goals in just 19 appearances (17 starts) this season. This week the 25-year-old has spoken of his ‘dream’ of playing in England. If the Salzburg striker continues this form, he may well soon get his wish.

Real Madrid announced this week they have won the signature of the one of the most prolific strikers in Europe over the past few seasons, the Dutchman Klaas Jan Huntelaar. The 25-year-old will move in January for an initial reported fee of £17m. The transfer ends the continuous rumours linking the player to the Premier League with clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle and Man City showing an interest. The question remains whether English clubs have missed out on a major goal-scoring talent or is the striker vastly overrated?

Xavi: Barcelona Star Contract Dispute - Arsenal, Liverpool, Man United & Chelsea Alerted

Reports are suggesting that the Premier League big guns are taking an increasing interest in the current contract dispute between Spanish star Xavi and his club Barcelona. The diminutive playmaker has just 18 months left remaining on his contract but his efforts to earn a pay-rise to push his wages into the same bracket as Carles Puyol. Samuel Eto’o and Lionel Messi have been rejected.

Giovinco: The ‘New Messi’ Set to Stay Despite West Ham & Arsenal Interest

West Ham are reportedly attempting to sign one if not the most highly-rated youngster in Italian football, the Juventus midfield man Sebastian Giovinco on loan. The diminutive star is a firm favourite of Hammers manager Gianfranco Zola after the pair worked together for the Italian U21 side. However, despite the interest, the player’s agent Claudio Pasqualini has suggested a move is unlikely.

Adriano Up for Grabs: Can Harry or Big Phil Revitalise the Brazilian at Spurs or Chelsea?

There’s been a vast array of strikers being linked to the Premier League in January but only in the past few days have we seen Inter Milan’s forgotten man Adriano Leite Ribeiro mentioned. The 26-year-old Brazilian was rated as one of the best in the world only a few seasons ago but after much controversy, a lack of form and falling out of favour with new coach Jose Mourinho, the striker could be available for a knock-down £7m fee.
