Cascarino: ‘Golden Generation’ Needs to be Culled Now for England’s Future

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

After England’s pathetic showing in South Africa I would argue that a number of the senior squad may have played their last game for their country. The way the team performed suggests a cull is needed both of the coaching staff and players. The whole attitude of the squad must be questioned as there seems to be too many powerful big ego’s around the current set-up to mould a real ‘team’ together. Therefore, whoever is in charge should be strong enough to radically overhaul the squad. Even if it is a case of taking two steps back to move forward in the future, England need to do just that.

Cascarino: ‘Illogical’ Capello & ‘Shambolic’ England Defending to Blame v Germany

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Fabio Capello’s judgement must be called into question after one if not the worst performances from an English back four I’ve ever seen. It was not just the Germany game where England were poor, far from it but defensively the team were an absolute shambles in Bloemfontein.

Cascarino: FA Should Start Afresh & ‘Gamble’ on Shearer for England

Monday, June 28th, 2010

I really do think now is the time for the Football Association to be brave and take a gamble. There is no point chasing the best club managers around and handing them ridiculously big contracts as it hasn’t worked. Now is the time to bring in a young manager who may have little club experience and give him a tournament to get things right.

Cascarino: England were the ‘Worst Team’ at the World Cup & Capello Must Go

Monday, June 28th, 2010

It’s almost impossible to dissect how badly this World Cup has gone for England in just one article, as there were simply so many problems culminating in a 4-1 thrashing by Germany. For this reason, I really do think drastic action must be taken.

Tony Cascarino: ‘Improving England to Beat Overrated Germans’

Friday, June 25th, 2010

England take on Germany this Sunday and I really do feel this is a great chance for Fabio Capello’s men to progress. I have not been that impressed with the Germans in this tournament and I truly believe that England can beat them.

Tony Cascarino: Wayne Rooney Must be Carrying an Injury

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Wayne Rooney performed better against Slovenia but he is still not the same player we are used to at Manchester United by a long way. Wayne has been terrorising defences all season at club level but for some reason his usual self belief and confidence has gone.

Tony Cascarino’s World Cup Tips for £50,000 Triple Rollover Win!

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

The 2010 World Cup is now heating up with the goals finally arriving in their droves. The first phase of matches are almost at an end with plenty still left to play for in every group. The various nations know what they need to do to qualify for the knockout round while those about to leave the competition will be playing for pride, so there may be a few shock results with some teams playing without pressure. With that in mind it is well worth covering a few of your predictions on Premier 10 especially with a £50,000 triple rollover on offer.

Cascarino: Torres Needed for Spain & Brazil’s Kaka to Up his Game

Friday, June 18th, 2010

Brazil were my tip to win the World Cup before the finals kicked off and they still have a great chance to do that. Having seen them struggle to open up a resilient North Korean team, it is obvious the Brazilians will need to improve particularly a few of their star individuals.

Cascarino’s World Cup Preview: England v Algeria

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Franz Beckenbauer’s criticism of England’s style as ‘Kick and Rush’ does have an element of truth in it following their performance in the 1-1 draw with the USA although it is a bit harsh. Fabio Capello’s team need to up their game against Algeria but there are still plenty of questions the Italian needs to answer in terms of team selection.

Cascarino: ‘Organisation’ Triumphing Over ‘Flair’ at World Cup

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Let’s be honest the World Cup finals in South Africa have hardly been the most exciting of tournaments but I wouldn’t blame that on the new ball as some have tried but on the new importance of organisation to each nation.
