The dust has yet to settle on Tyneside after the second coming of the Geordie messiah ended abruptly last week following Kevin Keegan’s resignation but already a number of candidates have been linked to the club. There’s little doubt that Special K remains the number one choice of the Toon Army to lead the team but there looks little chance of a reinstatement unless the club’s ownership changes hand. Which leaves the burning question who do the fans want to replace their departed idol in the Newcastle hotseat?

It would seem that Andrew Johnson’s days at Goodison Park are coming to an end with David Moyes being linked to a number of forwards including Real Zaragoza’s Diego Milito this summer. Rafa Benitez has added more fuel to the fire concerning the arrival of ‘big name’ signings to Anfield with Robbie Keane one of a number of players reportedly targeted. He’s dismissed the potential signing of Valencia’s David Villa as someone the club has looked at but “at this moment, not our target”. However, he stressed that the Reds had been in contact with Tottenham over the Irish Captain’s availability and that the club are “still working” on a possible move.
