Cascarino’s Champions League Preview: Manchester Utd v AC Milan

Manchester United are firmly in the box seat in this tie after beating AC Milan 3-2 in the San Siro. However, I don’t feel this tie is over as the Italians will be adventurous at Old Trafford after outplaying United for nearly an hour in the first leg. The fact that Sir Alex Ferguson’s side scored three away goals gives them a massive advantage but I can still see United having to endure a nervy time in this one.

HUNTELAAR: The Perfect Loan Signing for Liverpool, Spurs or Arsenal

Premier League big boys Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham were all strongly linked with Dutch striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar in the summer prior to him joining AC Milan. At the time the Serie A club seemed to have got a bargain at just €15 million. However, after a poor start to his Milan career which has followed on from his disappointing time in Madrid, the Italian giants and the player are reportedly ready to cut their losses on the Dutchman either with a loan or permanent move this month. The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool or Tottenham may therefore be able to pick up one of the world’s most deadliest strikers in a no-risk move until the end of the season.

Mathieu Flamini: Man City to Beat Tottenham to Former Gunners Star

Reports in both England and Italy today claim that Manchester City have moved ahead of Tottenham in the chase for AC Milan’s disgruntled former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini. The 25-year-old has endured a disappointing time in Italy since moving on a free transfer in 2008 as he’s struggled to maintain a first team place and often been forced to play as a full-back.

Edin Dzeko: Chelsea Named But Will Arsenal, Man United or Spurs Join Them?

The likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal have been strongly linked to moves for one of the hottest properties in European football…. Wolfsburg’s striker Edin Dzeko. However, the Bosnian has continually claimed that he wants to join the club he supported as a boy AC Milan while his agent has claimed Chelsea are preparing a move. The talented striker surprisingly stayed with the German champions much to the player’s own disappointment. Despite staying and signing a contract extension until 2013 Dzeko has continued to be linked with a move away.

Hernanes: Dazzling Brazilian In, Babel & Dossena Out at Liverpool?

Interest is mounting for Brazilian hot property Hernanes who is strongly linked with a move to Italy but has also attracted the interest of a number of Premier League sides. Liverpool are the latest club to be linked with the playmaker in the Brazilian press with claims that Rafa Benitez will step up his chase the talented South American by financing the move with the sale of fringe players Andrea Dossena and Ryan Babel.

David Trezeguet: Chase is on for £5M Legend - Worth a Gamble for Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal or Spurs?

AC Milan are leading the chase this summer one of the most consistent scorers in Europe over the past 12 seasons. David Trezeguet is set to end his 9-year stay at Juventus with a move away. The 31-year-old is being touted with a move away from the club this summer with his agent suggesting Old Trafford was the perfect destination. However, there are a number of English clubs who could see the Frenchman as the ambitious big name signing their team needs.

Hleb & Flamini: Rafa Targets Ex-Gunners to Replace Midfield Duo & Lead Liverpool Title Charge

Alexander Hleb’s agent earlier this week declared the player was happy at Barcelona despite a disappointing first season with the Spanish champions. However, reports in Spain as well as the player himself suggest the Belarusian star will be on the move with Liverpool leading the chase. The player’s agent Uli Ferber told Sport, “We have four or five offers from England and Germany.”
