Premier League big boys Arsenal, Liverpool,Man City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham were all strongly linked with Dutch striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar in the summer prior to him joining AC Milan. At the time the Serie A club seemed to have got a bargain at just €15 million. However, after a poor start to his Milan career which has followed on from his disappointing time in Madrid, the Italian giants are reportedly ready to cut their losses on the Dutchman with Arsene Wenger reportedly leading the chase to revive his career.

Everton, Man City and Liverpool all missed out on the signature of Swedish starlet Rasmus Elm Dutch as summer as AZ Akmaar swooped in a £4m deal. However, the young star has made little impact in Holland as his new club have struggled finding themselves in 8th place despite winning the title last season. This has led to increased speculation that Elm will be leaving AZ this January as long as the club can recoup the £4m they paid with Blackburn, Everton and Liverpool all ready to pounce.

Rafael van der Vaart has confirmed he will be leaving Real Madrid and has this week launched a ‘come and get me’ plea to big clubs in the top four leagues in Europe after rejecting old club Ajax. Real Madrid are reportedly looking to recoup the amount they paid for the creative star which is a figure of roughly £13m which is not much in relation to some of the highly expensive moves so far this season.

Liverpool may well be rueing the fact they missed out on one of European football’s brightest attacking talents in the summer. Four defeats from just nine league matches and the absence of Fernando Torres at the weekend makes the failure to bring in the Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez even more disappointing especially as he has been in breathtaking form for Ajax already this season.

Everton, Man City and Liverpool look set to miss out on the signature of Swedish starlet Rasmus Elm Dutch club AZ Akmaar have emerged as favourites for the player and he’s expected to join this week. The young star had previously visited Everton and is rumoured to have also been to see Rafa Benitez at Liverpool too. However, after deliberating for the past few weeks, Elm has declared a decision has been made.
