First and foremost I see Sol Campbell’s return to Arsenal as a type of signing that Arsene Wenger should have done a lot more of in his time at the club. Ok, so Sol’s 35-years-old but if he can do a job for 6 months then why not bring him in? I personally think this is a good move for the team even if Sol doesn’t get a game this season as that will mean the Gunners have remained injury free and are playing well.

The loss of Emmanuel Adebayor may be a problem for Arsenal next season but for me, there’s an even deeper problem at the club. The question that is plaguing me is why the hell is Arsene Wenger staying at Arsenal?

Patrice Evra summed up the Arsenal v Manchester United game perfectly, it really was men against boys. To be honest I am bored to death of Arsene Wenger talking about the potential of his young team. Ok, they’ve got a lot of good youngsters but I live in the present and however great this side may be in the future, at the moment they have a team with no balls.

Reports suggest Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Barcelona, Sevilla, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are targeting the mercurial talents of Bordeaux’s on-loan attacking midfielder Yoann Gourcuff. The French star has been in scintillating form this season in Lique One as his club side sit 2 points behind leaders Marseille and 2 points above reigning champions Lyon. There was much debate as to whether the player would return to AC Milan this summer but coach Carlo Ancelotti’s recent comments suggest Gourcuff has no future at the San Siro. Ancelotti told Tuttomercatoweb, “The return of Gourcuff in the Milan jersey will not be easy, even if it is not impossible.”

The French star has been in scintillating form this season in Lique One as his club side sit 1 point behind leaders and current champions Lyon. The fact that Milan loaned the player out suggests that he may be up for grabs with Chelsea reportedly leading the chase after witnessing first hand this season how good Gourcuff is.

Last weekend Bolton’s Kevin Davies was vilified for a challenge on Arsenal’s Gael Clichy in his side’s 3-1 home defeat to the Gunners. The young left-back had to leave the field which left Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger enraged. The Frenchman said, “We have no problem with people being physical when they play us - that is a charming part of the game.

Despite quotes from Arsene Wenger and Emmanuel Adebayor stating that the Togolese striker’s future remains at the Emirates the press continues to link the player with a whole host of clubs including AC Milan and Barcelona. The 24-year-old has just enjoyed the most prolific season of his career, scoring a superb 24 goals in 36 League appearances (32 starts). He almost single-handedly ended any doubts about the sale of Thierry Henry and replaced the French superstar as the cult hero of the Gunners fans.

Freddie Ljungberg was an extremely popular figure in his 9-year stint at Arsenal but he seems determined to ruin any goodwill felt towards him at the club following comments about the Gunners lack of ambition when he left and now criticism of his former manager Arsene Wenger.
