Reports in the French press have linked West Ham with a loan move for Bordeaux’s Argentine international striker Fernando Cavenaghi. The interest is expected to be firmed up now the Hammers have been taken over by David Gold and David Sullivan.

There was much debate as to whether the player would return to AC Milan this summer but coach Carlo Ancelotti’s recent comments suggest Gourcuff has no future at the San Siro. Ancelotti told Tuttomercatoweb, “The return of Gourcuff in the Milan jersey will not be easy, even if it is not impossible.”

Harry Redknapp was reportedly at the San Siro to watch Inter Milan’s forgotten man Adriano Leite Ribeiro score last night in the Coppa Italia win over Genoa. The 26-year-old Brazilian was rated as one of the best in the world only a few seasons ago but after much controversy, a lack of form and falling out of favour with new coach Jose Mourinho, the striker could be available for a knock-down fee or possibly a loan move.
