Cascarino’s Champions League Preview: Chelsea v Inter Milan

Monday, March 15th, 2010

I can’t wait for the Chelsea v Inter Milan match this week as even though it may not be the best game of football ever, it promises to be an intriguing clash. Personally I feel Chelsea will win the match as they have the better players and should dominate a large portion of the game but with Jose Mourinho, you never know.

Alan Hansen’s Premier 10 Pick: Chelsea v West Ham

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

Chelsea have been knocked off top spot in recent weeks as Manchester United have replaced them while Arsenal’s excellent run of form sees them level on points with Carlo Ancelotti’s team. Therefore, this weekend’s clash with West Ham is a must win in terms of boosting confidence ahead of a run of potentially tricky fixtures. Alternatively, the Hammers need to bounce back from a home defeat to Bolton which leaves Gianfranco Zola’s team just 3 points clear of the relegation zone.

Friday, February 26th, 2010

The Premier League’s big guns have all been monitoring the form of one of Europe’s brightest young starlets Romelu Lukaku. The 16-year-old striker has broken into Belgian giants Anderlecht’s first team despite his tender years and leads the scoring charts. The teenager has also impressed in Europe as Anderlecht have reached the last 16 of the Europa League with Lukaku playing a key role.

Cascarino’s Champions League Pick: Inter Milan v Chelsea

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Inter Milan are a far improved team this season so should give Chelsea a very tough two legs. Jose Mourinho has moulded Inter into his own team; they are very difficult to beat, good defensively and from what I’ve seen of them, very impressive.

Alan Hansen’s Premier 10 Preview: Everton v Chelsea

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Everton host league leaders Chelsea still smarting from a disappointing, bruising Merseyside derby defeat at Anfield last weekend. The spirit in the Toffees camp must have been deflated after failing to capitalise on Liverpool’s first-half red card but at least David Moyes’ won’t have to work too hard to lift his players for the visit of Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Blues Fan Wins £30,000 as Chelsea Beat Arsenal & Hull Shock Man City

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

The Chelsea v Arsenal match was an intriguing contest between two of the best teams in the country who play with both differing styles and attitudes. While Arsene Wenger’s side enjoyed the lion’s share of possession without causing too many problems to the Chelsea defence, the Blues were more than happy to surrender ground, soak up any pressure and hit the Gunners on the break. The top of the table clash was of massive importance to Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United fans but for one Birmingham City fan, this match had a £30,000 Premier 10 jackpot win riding on it.
