Unleash Deadly Spurs Star Defoe on Croatia Urges Republic of Ireland Legend

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Fabio Capello faces a few major selection headaches prior to picking his England team for the crunch game with Croatia. The debate is raging over whether the Italian chooses Jermain Defoe or Emile Heskey to partner Wayne Rooney in attack and for me, the case for the little Tottenham striker is hard to ignore.

Tony Cascarino: Liverpool New Boy Johnson is Not One of Best in World & It’s Green or James for Keeper Slot

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

In terms of the current England side I feel there are two spots in the starting eleven that are still up for grabs. One is the goalkeeping position and the other is at right-back. There is little to choose between the current crop of English goalkeepers so whoever has the best season at club level should be in a position to grab the position with both hands, so to speak.

Tony Cascarino: Spurs Star Lennon has Got the ‘Edge’ Over Man City Star Wright-Phillips for Croatia Clash

Monday, September 7th, 2009

Fabio Capello has options within his squad in terms of who he picks on the right-hand side of midfield for the big clash with Croatia on Wednesday. There’s little to choose between Man City’s Shaun Wright-Phillips and Tottenham’s Aaron Lennon for a starting berth but in terms of form, I’d plump for the Spurs man.

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Bolton signed Croatian striker Ivan Klasnic on loan to boost their squad after a dismal start to the season. Gary Megson needed to bring someone in as the club is desperately lacking in that area but whether the 29-year Croat is the answer, I’m not so sure.

Tony Cascarino: Kranjcar Another ‘Common Sense’ Signing for Harry’s Spurs

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Niko Kranjcar arrived at White Hart Lane on transfer deadline day and is what I call a common-sense signing. He is a very solid player who can fill in on the left-hand side in the absence of Luka Modric. The Croatian is a quality player, ok he’s not as gifted as Modric but he’s a steady player and an excellent provider from set-pieces.
