This is a tricky match for United especially with some of their top stars out including Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs. These are horrible trips to go on and it’s not a game the United players will be looking forward to. It’s one of those games you wouldn’t be overly surprised if Sir Alex Ferguson’s side lost. They’ve got a massive league game at the weekend at Anfield and are in a relatively comfortable position in the Champions League group, so could arguably afford to drop points in Moscow.

Arguably the best left-back at last summer’s Euro 2008 finals was Russia’s outstanding Yuri Zhirkov. The CSKA Moscow star was in sensational form as the Russians stormed into the semi-finals on the back of a 3-1 win over the Dutch. Despite the loss to Spain a number of the Russian players impressed during the tournament though Arsenal’s Andrey Arshavin received most of the plaudits. However, reports suggest Zhirkov will be the next Russian import to the English top flight with Liverpool set to steal the left-sided star from under Chelsea’s noses.

The deadline day moves of Robbie Keane and Andrei Arshavin meant that the departure of Manchester City’s £18m summer signing Jo to Everton went almost unnoticed. Despite not enjoying the best of starts at Eastlands after scoring just once in 9 League appearances (6 starts) it still seemed surprising that the club would allow him to go out on loan so soon after paying big money for him. His full record in all competitions for City is just 3 goals in 18 appearances (13 starts) but even with the arrival of Craig Bellamy it seems a strange move for the club to let him leave but alternatively a very good move for Everton.
