Both Everton and Manchester City are reportedly set to renew their interest in CSKA Moscow striker Vagner Love in January as they aim to boost their goal power. Everton have lost Yakubu for the season and with Louis Saha’s injury record will need to bring in some new recruits. Whether the Toffees can afford the Brazilian is questionable. However, money laden Manchester City definitely can!

David Moyes, Mark Hughes and Juande Ramos are reportedly battling to sign CSKA Moscow’s Vagner Silva de Souza (Vagner Love for short) in Januray. However, signing the Brazilian striker won’t be easy after the Russian club sold his former partner Jo to Man City in an £18m deal.

David Moyes and Juande Ramos are reportedly battling to sign CSKA Moscow’s Vagner Silva de Souza (Vagner Love for short). The Toffees are looking for a replacement for Andrew Johnson at Goodison whilst Spurs may lose Dimitar Berbatov on top of already losing Robbie Keane so are scouring the market for replacements. However, signing the Brazilian striker won’t be easy now the Russian club have already sold his former partner Jo to Man City in an £18m deal.

It increasingly looks like Andrew Johnson will be leaving Goodison whilst Spurs may lose all 3 of their main strikers so are scouring the market for replacements. However, signing the Brazilian striker won’t be easy now the Russian club have already sold his former partner Jo to Man City in an £18m deal.

Arguably the best left-back at Euro 2008 was Russia’s outstanding Yuri Zhirkov this summer. The CSKA Moscow star was in sensational form as the Russians stormed into the semi-finals on the back of a 3-1 win over the Dutch. Despite the loss to Spain a number of ther players have impressed during the tournament though it’s Andrei Arshavin who’s received most of the plaudits and was heavily linked to Stamford Bridge. However, former Head Coach Avram Grant let slip a few weeks ago on Israeli TV that’s it not the Russian Captain Chelsea are targeting but his team-mate Zhirkov.

Brazilian striker João Alves de Assis Silva or Jo for short is finally set to sign for Manchester City this week after a long drawn out transfer saga. The move has been questioned due to possible 3rd party ownership issues but Jo’s advisor Kia Joorabchian has been quick to rubbish these rumours.

David Moyes is set to sign a new 5-year contract at Everton with the promise that funds are available to further strengthen the Toffees squad. The club have been heavily linked to Zenit St Petersburg playmaker and Russian Captain Andrei Arshavan in recent weeks and now a new name has been added to the list… João Alves de Assis Silva or Jo for short.
