Reports have once again broken concerning an apparent financial crisis at Spanish club Valencia which has led to increased speculation that their star man and most marketable asset David Villa will be sold in January. This news will alert big spenders Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham who are all on the look out for new strikers in the New Year.

Bayern Munich star Lukas Podolski looks set to leave the Allianz Arena after failing to nail down a first team place with the Bundesliga giants. The talented forward has been linked to moves to Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and Manchester City in the summer but remains in Germany though is getting increasingly disgruntled after constantly being used from the bench.

Bayern Munich star Lukas Podolski is reported to want out of the Allianz Arena after failing to nail down a first team place with the Bundesliga giants. Arsenal are reportedly stepping up their interest in Sporting Lisbon’s talented young midfielder Miguel Veloso in a bid to bring the player to the Emirates in January. The international’s agent Paulo Barbosa declared this week, “Arsenal want Veloso for the future and a deal could be done in the January window.” However, ominously for the North Londoners he added, “But (Manchester) United are also watching the situation very closely.”

Roman Pavlyuchenko is set to make his Tottenham debut this weekend following his £13.8m move from Spartak Moscow. His arrival in the Premier League was overshadowed by the departure of Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United and Manchester City’s capture of Robinho. It would seem that little has been reported of the Russian Euro 2008 star. However, two of his new club team-mates saw first hand what a handful he can be this week.

Despite a poor Euro 2008 tournament, Stuttgart’s Mario Gomez has been tracked by a number of clubs this summer including Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Tottenham. However, the exciting striker has today been strongly linked to a move to Manchester City tonight as the transfer deadline looms.

Udinese midfielder has been the subject of much interest from the Premier League this summer with both Newcastle and Arsenal heavily linked to the Swiss sensation. Despite comments from his agent concerning a reported move to the Emirates it has emerged that David Moyes is attempting to make the Serie A anchorman his first summer signing for £7m.

Tottenham target Roman Pavlyuchenko has openly admitted that a move to England would be a ‘big problem’ for the Russian star. He has been linked to White Hart Lane since Euro 2008 and was widely expected to join Andrei Arshavin in North London as the pairing to replace Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov. However, with the transfer deadline weeks away a move looks unlikely.

The long running Andrei Arshavin transfer saga could finally end as early as tonight as his club side Zenit St Petersburg have announced they are dropping the price for the exciting Russian star of Euro 2008. Juande Ramos’ Tottenham may finally get their man beating off interest from the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona, Everton, Newcastle, Chelsea and Fiorentina for his services.

Manchester United are reportedly making their move to sign £18m Valencia winger David Silva and have leapfrogged above Liverpool, Arsenal and Roma in the race for his signature. Valencia’s main shareholder Juan Villalonga recently declared the player was up for sale, “I’m sorry for our fans but we do not have the capital needed to meet our commitments and we are forced to mortgage all our heritage like our most important players.”
