Cascarino’s Champions League Preview: Chelsea v Inter Milan

Monday, March 15th, 2010

I can’t wait for the Chelsea v Inter Milan match this week as even though it may not be the best game of football ever, it promises to be an intriguing clash. Personally I feel Chelsea will win the match as they have the better players and should dominate a large portion of the game but with Jose Mourinho, you never know.

Cascarino’s Champions League Preview: Inter Milan v Chelsea

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Inter Milan are a far improved team this season so should give Chelsea a very tough two legs. Jose Mourinho has moulded Inter into his own team; they are very difficult to beat, good defensively and from what I’ve seen of them, very impressive.

Taye Taiwo: Rafa v Jose as Liverpool Fight for Marseille’s African Powerhouse

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Rafa Benitez is reported in the French press to be stepping up his pursuit of Marseille’s powerful left-back Taye Taiwo after Inter Milan showed an interest. Ideally Liverpool would prefer to wait until the summer to sign the powerful Nigerian but with Jose Mourinho ready to pounce, it would seem a deal will be pushed through as soon as Ryan Babel departs from Anfield.

Mario Balotelli: Spurs & Liverpool Move to Steal Inter Wonderkid West Ham Target

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

West Ham are reportedly leading a host of Premier League clubs in the chase for one of Serie A’s young sensations, the 18-year-old Inter striker Mario Balotelli. Gianfranco Zola admitted that he is in negotiations when he revealed, “I have done everything I can to sign Mario and it would be in both our interests and his.” However, Tottenham tried to negotiate a deal back in January and Harry Redknapp is known to be a keen admirer of the youngster. Rafa Benitez is also on the lookout for more strikers to contest a place with Fernando Torres but whether Balotelli will settle for an understudy role is unlikely.

Tony Cascarino: Inter’s Ibrahimovic is More ‘Egg Beater Than World Beater’ - Manchester United to go Through

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

Manchester United face a tricky game with Inter Milan this week especially as we all know about the ‘Mourinho’ factor. However, the Italians have lost a number of defensive players on the run up to this match so should have a patched up backline. For this reason I would love to see Sir Alex tell his side to go at Inter from the first minute. Don’t be cagey just go out there and beat them.

Liverpool Legend John Barnes on Manchester United Clash with Inter Milan

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Manchester United put on another assured, confident display over in the San Siro against Inter in midweek. I thought they’d dominate the game as they are stronger and quicker than the Italians and that’s how it panned out. Inter did come into the match in the second half so the 2nd leg isn’t going to be easy for United by any means.

Alan Hansen on Manchester United & Inter Milan’s Jose Mourinho

Friday, February 20th, 2009

Having watched Inter in the Milan derby last week I did notice that they look a lot stronger under Jose Mourinho’s management. However, the way Manchester United are playing at the minute you have to fancy them to go through.

John Barnes: Manchester United Will Silence Jose & Inter!

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Inter are currently the best Italian side by a mile and will win the Serie A title comfortably once again this season. You can’t compare Italian football to the situation in Scotland where one of two teams always wins the title but Inter don’t currently have to extend themselves every week to remain the best. Manchester United on the other hand have to play at the top level week in, week out, so it may be hard for Inter to rise to this occasion.

Ricardo Quaresma: Chelsea Sign Portuguese Wing Wizard But Perfect for Spurs & Liverpool!

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Chelsea’s loan capture of Inter MIlan winger Ricardo Quaresma on deadline day went almost unmentioned due to the big money moves of Robbie Keane and Andrei Arshavin but could prove to be the best bit of business. The 25-year-old was strongly linked to Tottenham but a late Chelsea move saw the Portuguese star moving to Stamford Bridge for the rest of the season.
