Tottenham Luka to the Future: Modric Signing Signals Spurs Ambitions!

Monday, April 28th, 2008

The 2007/08 season was meant to be the year Tottenham finally broke up the usual Champions League quartet of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. Instead Spurs are set to end their campaign in mid-table, which has become an all too familiar sight for Spurs fans over the course of Premier League history. It was not meant to be but they will be relishing a home match against struggling Fulham to further climb the table. The Cottagers are in a similar position to Spurs in terms of spending a lot of money in the summer and yet replacing their manager mid-season. The front runners for the position seem to be old boy John Collins or Croatia coach Slaven Bilic.

ARSENAL v TOTTENHAM - ANOTHER NORTH-LONDON NIGHTMARE FOR SPURS?

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

Back to back League wins has seen Tottenham climb to the dizzy heights of 12th but expect their hopes to come crashing down to earth against neighbours Arsenal at the Emirates this weekend. Unfortunately for Juande Ramos’ side they have an appalling recent run of form against their bitter North London rivals with no wins against them for over 8 years. Spurs record is even worse at Arsenal with no win there since 1993, 14 years ago. Even that historic 3-1 win at Highbury was against a weakened Arsenal side as the Gunners were playing in the FA Cup final just 4 days later. The theory that derby matches are unpredictable does not ring true for the North London Derby.
