Leeds win at Old Trafford was an impressive one when you consider that the away side are two divisions below Manchester United. The Yorkshire club were extremely well organised and did what they had to do on the day. They rode their luck at times but not as much as you would expect at Old Trafford and their work-rate and bravery in terms of putting their bodies on the line was there for all to see.

I met Leeds Chairman Ken Bates back in April and he was very upbeat about the future of Leeds and he must be overjoyed with the start his team has made to the new season. Leeds have come flying out of the blocks despite selling one of their stars Fabian Delph to Aston Villa.

Fabian Delph: Aston Villa Lead Arsenal, Man United, Newcastle & a Host of PL Clubs for £6M Teen

The latest bright talent to emerge from the Leeds production line is 19-year-old midfielder Fabian Delph who is a £6m target for an increasing number of Premier League clubs this summer with Aston Villa reportedly leading the queue. The Yorkshire giants may struggle to hold onto the precocious talent with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Fulham, Newcastle also reported to be preparing bids.

The press have suggested it’s advantage Manchester United and Liverpool following Chelsea’s shock home defeat to Arsenal at the weekend. However, though this was a great result for the two North-West clubs, there is still a million miles to go yet. The games come thick and fast throughout February and March so at the moment it’s all about getting yourself into a challenging position.

Darren Huckerby the ‘English Legend’ Arrives in the USA: Former Newcastle, Coventry, Leeds, Man City & Norwich Star Wows America!

Darren Huckerby is the latest in a long line of ageing stars to arrive in America to join Major League Soccer after signing for the San Jose Earthquake. However, the former Newcastle, Coventry, Leeds, Man City and Norwich star in one interview with an American news channel sums up why ‘soccer’ and America is not such a great fit.

Aaron Lennon: Spurs Flying Winger Chased by Aston Villa, Blackburn, Newcastle & Everton

There are a number of Premier League clubs reportedly chasing Tottenham’s flying winger Aaron Lennon this summer though Ewood Park looks the young player’s most likely destination. Spurs are currently leading the chase for Blackburn’s David Bentley and are expected to offer Lennon in a player plus cash exchange. However, Aston Villa, Newcastle and Everton also remain interested in the former Leeds star whilst Liverpool were past admirers of the winger.

£6M Lennon to Newcastle & Blackburn’s £15M Bentley in: Would this be a Poor Deal for Tottenham?

Press reports suggest Spurs will be looking to wrap up a deal for Blackburn’s David Bentley for between £12m-15m now Paul Ince has been appointed as the new manager at Ewood Park. However, there are also reports that this will lead to the sale of Aaron Lennon to Newcastle for £6m.
