Alan Hansen’s Premier League Preview: Blackburn v Man United

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

It has been a miserable week and a half for Manchester United after crashing out of the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich and being knocked off the top of the table by Chelsea. This weekend, the Red Devils have the chance to return to the Premier League summit as Carlo Ancelotti’s team play in their FA Cup semi-final. Alan Hansen’s CL Preview: Man United v Bayern Munich

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Manchester United suffered double disappointment in Munich last week when they not only conceded two late goals but also lost top scorer and talisman Wayne Rooney to injury. To compel matters, Sir Alex Ferguson saw his team lose at home to main title rivals Chelsea at the weekend after a highly disappointing first half display. United did rally in the second-half but this was not the sort of display we’ve come to expect from the reigning champions. A Champions League exit to Bayern would put United’s exciting season in jeopardy of ending in failure, so this is a huge match for the Red Devils which will affect not only their European aspirations but also their chances of bouncing back in the Premier League.

Alan Hansen’s Premier League Preview: Man United v Chelsea

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

The top two go head to head at Old Trafford this weekend with a mere point separating the sides with just six games left to play. The build-up to this match has centred around the injury to Wayne Rooney and the affect it will have on both Manchester United and England. However, despite reports to the contrary, United are far from a one-man team. Of course they will miss Wayne as he is one of the best players in the world right now and scoring goals for fun but make no mistake; there is plenty of quality left in the Red Devils squad for Chelsea to contend with.
