A number of Premier League clubs have been alerted by Marseille’s playmaker Mathieu Valbuena’s latest outburst with Second City rivals Aston Villa and Birmingham reportedly heading the queue. Liverpool, Everton and West Ham were linked with the diminutive star last summer but it now looks like a straight battle between Alex McLeish and Martin O’Neill for the French star, at least in terms of the English clubs interest.

A number of Bundesliga clubs have stepped up their interest in Marseille’s playmaker Mathieu Valbuena who is a target for a number of Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Everton, Aston Villa and West Ham. Reports in both the German and French press suggest Hertha Berlin, Hamburg and Schalke are ready to make formal bids as interest in the diminutive Frenchman continues to grow.
