Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Real Madrid announced this week they have won the signature of the one of the most prolific strikers in Europe over the past few seasons, the Dutchman Klaas Jan Huntelaar. The 25-year-old will move in January for an initial reported fee of £17m. The transfer ends the continuous rumours linking the player to the Premier League with clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle and Man City showing an interest. The question remains whether English clubs have missed out on a major goal-scoring talent or is the striker vastly overrated?

After beating Arsenal last weekend, Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill will be aiming to get the better of Arsene Wenger once again with the signing of Belgian starlet Steven Defour in January. Shay Given: The ‘Perfect’ Choice to Replace Gomes at Tottenham

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Plenty has been written about Tottenham’s Brazilian stopper Heurelho Gomes this season and after another horror show at Craven Cottage he will soon find himself on his way out in January. Monday, November 10th, 2008

Joe Kinnear, who famously opened his spell at Newcastle by swearing 52 times in a 5 minute press conference, is in trouble again over the words leaving his mouth. Tony Cascarino’s Column: Thoughts on Chelsea v Liverpool, Sunderland v Newcastle & Arsenal’s CL Win

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

The top two clash this weekend at the Bridge and personally I expect Chelsea to win. I just don’t think Liverpool can keep nicking results like they have been lately especially as at the weekend they looked extremely vulnerable at the back whilst the Blues certainly don’t.

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Tonight we can enjoy another ‘Battle of Britain’ as Scottish Champions Celtic travel to Old Trafford to face the English champions Manchester United. This will be another great spectacle with Celtic supporters arriving in numbers as usual to give their side a terrific backing. There’ll be 76,000 packed into the stadium to witness a British style match with an unbelievable atmosphere. Unfortunately for Celtic I just can’t see them getting a result.

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

We have a break from the thrills and spills of the Premier League this week with another round of World Cup qualifiers. Now a lot has been made of Fabio Capello’s decision to exclude Michael Owen again from the squad but for me it’s hardly surprising.
