Despite comments from Marseille coach Didier Deschamps it would seem that Taye Taiwo is still pursuing a move away with Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp and Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson in hot pursuit. The powerful left-back is determined to leave and reportedly argued with his current coach concerning a move. Taiwo told skysports.com, “Marseille know where I stand on this issue of a transfer.

Taye Taiwo: Spurs Chase Marseille Defensive Powerhouse

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is reported in the French press to be stepping up his pursuit of Marseille’s powerful left-back Taye Taiwo. The marauding left-back was one of the few impressive performers for Nigeria at the World Cup finals in South Africa but the French club are after £8.5m for the him which Spurs are not willing to pay. Atletico Madrid are also in the hunt but they too have baulked at the fee. Whether the French champions will drop the price is debatable but Redknapp is looking to strengthen his defence with doubts remaining over Benoit Assou-Ekotto’s ability at the highest level.

Taye Taiwo: Sunderland & Birmingham Battle for African World Cup Star

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is reported in the French press to be stepping up his pursuit of Marseille’s powerful left-back Taye Taiwo after Birmingham City expressed an interest. Ideally the Black Cats would prefer to wait until after the World Cup finals to sign the powerful Nigerian but with Alex McLeish ready to pounce, it would seem a deal will be pushed through as soon as a big is accepted by the French champions.

Rafa Benitez is reported in the French press to be stepping up his pursuit of Marseille’s powerful left-back Taye Taiwo after Inter Milan showed an interest. Ideally Liverpool would prefer to wait until the summer to sign the powerful Nigerian but with Jose Mourinho ready to pounce, it would seem a deal will be pushed through as soon as Ryan Babel departs from Anfield.

Injury to Fabio Aurelio has led to Rafa Benitez stepping up his pursuit of Marseille’s powerful left-back Taye Taiwo. Aurelio seriously injured his knee while playing football on holiday in Brazil with his family and may be out until 2010 according to reports.

Tottenham have emerged as favourites for Marseille’s powerful left-back Taye Taiwo in the summer. Wolves Seyi Olofinjana Set to Join a Premier League Club: Will it be Hull, West Brom, Bolton, Stoke or Wigan?

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has openly admitted his Nigerian midfielder Seyi Olofinjana will leave the club this summer with a host of Premier League clubs interested in his services.The 28-year-old midfield star has activated a clause in the four-year contract which allows him to be sold to a Premier League club if Wolves failed to gain promotion. Thus he is expected to be on the move to the top flight.
