The dust has yet to settle on Tyneside after the second coming of the Geordie messiah ended abruptly last week following Kevin Keegan’s resignation but already a number of candidates have been linked to the club. There’s little doubt that Special K remains the number one choice of the Toon Army to lead the team but there looks little chance of a reinstatement unless the club’s ownership changes hand. Which leaves the burning question who do the fans want to replace their departed idol in the Newcastle hotseat?

The Great Dane Michael Laudrup Emerges as Favourite for the Blackburn Job

Michael Laudrup has emerged as one of the favourites for the vacant managerial job at Blackburn despite MK Dons boss Paul Ince reportedly being the clear front runner. Former Danish superstar Laudrup has just departed unfashionable Spanish club Getafe after just 1 season. The 43-year-old took the reigns at the La Liga club last season replacing the Real Madrid bound Bernd Schuster. This was his 2nd managerial job after a spell with Danish club Brondby where he won the cup in his first season as well as the League and Cup double in 2005.

Mounting speculation concerning the vacant managerial post at Blackburn suggests Newcastle legend Alan Shearer is the front runner for the job. The former Rovers striker is one of a number of candidates for the position alongside the likes of MK Dons manager Paul Ince, Sam Allardyce and Steve McClaren.
