Phil Brown has finally been relieved of his managerial position at Hull after over 3 years in charge and my only surprise is that he has lasted as long as he did. Phil was always walking the plank from the moment the new chairman arrived at the club and it seemed only a matter of time until the situation reached a head.

Watching Phil Brown singing into a microphone on the pitch at the KC Stadium was shocking for me. Ok if Hull had just beaten Manchester United 3-0 to secure survival then you can just about understand it. However, to get beaten and only stay up because of the failures of other sides yet to celebrate as if you’ve won something is just wrong.

Hull Boss Phil Brown Defends Bolton Striker Kevin Davies Tackle on Arsenal Star: Was the Challenge a ‘Disgrace’ or Fair?

Last weekend Bolton’s Kevin Davies was vilified for a challenge on Arsenal’s Gael Clichy in his side’s 3-1 home defeat to the Gunners. The young left-back had to leave the field which left Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger enraged. The Frenchman said, “We have no problem with people being physical when they play us - that is a charming part of the game.

HULL v WEST BROM - BAGGIES BAG A POINT AT HULL?

First placed West Brom travel to 9th placed Hull this Saturday aiming to remain top of the Championship. Tony Mowbray’s Baggies side are currently joint top with Watford and Bristol City, with only goal difference separating the sides. Phil Brown’s Tigers find themselves just one point off a Play-off place, which is a remarkable turnaround after finishing 21st in the 24-team division last season.
