Tony Cascarino: Celtic to ‘Revitalise’ Spurs ‘Bit-Part’ Player Robbie Keane

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Robbie Keane’s loan move from Tottenham to Celtic wasn’t overly surprising. Although Harry Redknapp has constantly declared that he wants to keep him at Spurs, It was pretty obvious that he was surplus to requirements. I think Harry has been a bit disappointed with Robbie’s form since he returned to White Hart Lane as he has not looked anything like the player that left to join Liverpool.

Friday, October 9th, 2009

There are some intriguing World Cup qualifiers taking place this weekend including England’s trip to the Ukraine. However, as Fabio Capello’s side have already booked their tickets to South Africa their match doesn’t have the same relevance as the likes of the Republic of Ireland’s clash with World Champions Italy.

Republic of Ireland v Bulgaria - World Cup Qualifying Preview

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Stanimir Stoilov’s first competitive match as Bulgaria coach looks set to be a tricky one as the new coach’s first squad is missing both Dimitar Berbatov and Martin Petrov through injury. Instead, the coach must look to Manchester’s other Bulgarian, Valeri Bojinov, for goals at Croke Park after the 23 year-old returned from a string of serious injuries to regain his place in the squad. Former Charlton midfielder Radostin Kishishev also returns to the fold following a two year hiatus from the national setup. The 34 year-old Kishishev now plays at Litex Lovech - the club at which Stoilov coaches when not engaged by national team duties.

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

A lot has been written about the treatment of Ashley Cole by the England fans at Wembley last weekend. For me, the booing that greeted his every touch after his mistake against Kazakhstan was not due to the error but more to do with the perception of Ashley Cole from the British public.

What a week we’ve had in terms of transfer stories, once again deadline day threw up some exciting and surprising deals and none more than the incredible turnaround at Manchester City with their takeover. It’s obviously great news for Man City as the only way you can compete at the highest level is by having money and they now have bundles of it. Now City will go from being mid-table to challenging the top four. After all, everything in the top flight is about money and the signing of Robinho will state their intentions and surely leads to exciting times if you are a City supporter.

Newcastle Won’t Give Up on McGeady: N’Zogbia Plus £5M Offer to Celtic: Will Spurs & Sunderland Also Bid?

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Celtic’s flying winger Aiden McGeady finally put pen to paper at Celtic by signing a 5-year deal with the Glasgow giants. Yet with the ink barely dry on his new contract, Newcastle have reportedly offered the club £5m and Charles N’Zogbia for the exciting, flying winger. Has Kevin Keegan got any chance of persuading the club to sell and the player to move to Tyneside. Unfortunately it looks like King Kev may be clutching at straws.
