I fully expect Harry Redknapp to build on his ever-improving Tottenham squad with two or three signings this summer who’ll make a big impact at the club. A new centre forward will be brought in with Darren Bent definitely on his way and Roman Pavlyuchenko having struggled. Roque Santa Cruz would be a superb signing to play alongside either Robbie Keane or Jermain Defore but don’t be surprised if Harry goes back to Portsmouth for Peter Crouch.

Press reports suggest that Liverpool have now joined the race for the signature of Blackburn’s £20m striker Roque Santa Cruz this summer alongside Man City and Tottenham. However after scoring just 4 League goals this season would this be too high a price for a striker who has really only enjoyed one prolific season in his entire career?

Press reports suggest that Manchester City are set to win the race for the signature of Blackburn’s Paraguayan international striker Roque Santa Cruz in the January transfer window for anything from £15m upwards. However after scoring just 3 League goals this season for Rovers would this be too high a price for a striker who has only enjoyed one prolific season in his career.

Press reports suggest that Tottenham have joined Man City in the chase for Blackburn’s Paraguayan international striker Roque Santa Cruz this week as Dimitar Berbatov grows ever closer to a departure to Barcelona or Manchester United. Mark Hughes reportedly tabled a £12m offer for his former frontman but this was rejected and he is expected to return with an increased £15m bid.

Press reports suggest that Tottenham will join Arsenal and Man City in the chase for Blackburn’s Paraguayan international striker Roque Santa Cruz this summer. The 26-year-old enjoyed a superb first season in England following his bargain £3.8million move from Bayern Munich last summer. He scored a superb 19 League goals in 37 apperances and is one of the most sought after strikers in the top division with at least 3 Premier League clubs thought to be in the race for his signature.

Coming to Blackburn for a miniscule £3.8m, Roque Santa Cruz is without doubt one of the biggest football bargains. A staggering 23 goals for Rovers in all competitions, plus an additional three for his native Paraguay only highlights one, what vision Mark Hughes has as a manager and two, exactly how much of a bargain the 26-year-old really was (cost just over £150,000 per goal - peanuts in today’s terms).

Arsene Wenger has been linked to a move for Blackburn’s Roque Santa Cruz if Emmanuel Adebayor decides to leave to join the Catalan giants Barcelona. With Frank Rijkaard being replaced by Barca legend Josep Guardiola there is expected to be a major upheaval at the Camp Nou with a number of comings and goings. Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto’o and Thierry Henry are all expected to depart so it’s no surprise that the Gunners Togolese hitman is being linked with arguably the biggest club in Europe.
