Arsenal’s major summer signing was French international Samir Nasri from Marseille fro a reported £15.8m. He arrived mid-July after a long drawn out chase. Despite the departure of a number of experienced stars his arrival was the one big money move and so far he has settled in well.

The latest young wonderkid heavily linked to Arsenal is Marseille’s Samir Nasri. The French international is one of the hottest properties in Europe having been tagged the ‘new Zidane’. Despite recently signing a new contract at the Stade Velodrome the players’ manager Eric Gerets has been quoted as saying he’ll be leaving the club this summer if a big enough offer comes in. After Flamini’s free transfer to AC Milan and Hleb’s reportedly imminent departure to join him in Serie A the North London giants definitely need some fresh blood to increase the belief around the Emirates that they can compete with the likes of United and Chelsea.
