Tony Cascarino: Owen is ‘No Gamble’ & Berbatov Ready to Shine for Manchester United

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that Manchester United’s transfer window business is now over after the arrivals of Luis Antonio Valencia, Gabriel Obertan and Michael Owen but to be honest I don’t believe him. United will still be pursuing targets as they need to strengthen further after losing two of their main men.

Alan Hansen: Manchester United to ‘Defend’ the Champions League v ‘Wonderful’ Barca

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Tonight’s Champions League final should be a great occasion with two great attacking sides on show. However, don’t expect Manchester United to go out and attack Barcelona gung ho as they will be more than aware of the talent of the Catalans in terms of attacking open spaces.

Alan Hansen: Sir Alex to be Manager of Year But Hodgson, Moyes, Pulis & Benitez Deserve Praise

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

The Manager of the Year trophy is a certainty to go to Sir Alex Ferguson. It’s hard to argue with that decision when you consider what Manchester United have won and could still win. The award usually goes to managers that wins trophies and the Premier League title, Carling Cup, World Club Championship, an FA Cup semi-final and a Champions League final is some record. There is no way that you could give the trophy to anyone else but there are a few other managers who have done simply superb jobs this season.

Alan Hansen: Fergie Needs to Keep Tevez & Why Manchester United Hat-Trick of Titles is a ‘Great Feat’

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Manchester United are within a point of another title and although the race is never over until the medal is actually in your hand, it’s hard to see them throwing it away now. You can’t really argue with United winning the title the way they’ve performed over the season. They’ve played like champions; have a team that’s worked their socks off and a manager who has proven yet again to be the dominant force in English football.

John Barnes: ‘Mind Games Won’t Work on Manchester United & Liverpool Stars’

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

There’s been a lot of attention surrounding the ‘mind games’ being waged by Rafa Benitez and Sir Alex Ferguson as we reach the business end of the season with Rafa’s comments about Manchester United being ‘scared’ very much in the press today. Too much emphasis is placed on this for me as comments from opposing managers don’t influence football results, the players themselves do.

Sir Alex Will Have a Big Say in his Successor at Manchester United - Tony Cascarino

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Manchester United may soon be looking for a new manager if the comments from Sir Alex’s son Darren are to be believed but whoever comes in to replace him will have huge boots to fill. It’s difficult to second guess who could be the next man at the helm as football is such a short-sighted business.

Fergie Made a Big Mistake Dropping Manchester United’s ‘Crazy’ Wayne Rooney Says Tony Cascarino

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

The press reports that Fabio Capello has told Wayne Rooney to calm down must be taken with a pinch of salt. After all, if the lad loses his aggression then he loses a lot of what makes him so good. Wayne has got to have that in his game. For me, the dismissal at Fulham was not down to him playing his usual aggressive game but down to his frustration at being dropped by Sir Alex.
